The space Our cottage is located in Nathuakhan, & spread over an acre of land, has a cottage comprising six bedrooms with attached modern bathrooms, and a common dining area. It is surrounded by orchards and fields on all sides. You won’t get to hear the television here, but you can occasionally hear a cow mooing at a distance, or a cricket crooning right outside your window. On local festive occasions, the faded sounds of the dholak come wafting from the village temple, which is located at a half­hour trek from the cottage. The common dining area is where set meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. A limited room service menu is also available for the in­ between times. Accommodation The cottage has been constructed in a way that incorporates traditional methods such as a tin­-and-­wood roof, along with modern comforts like running hot and cold water. Each room has an open sit­out area, and WiFi and intercom facility. Dining Begin your day with a sumptuous buffet breakfast comprising vegetarian and egg dishes, served in the common 'Have More' area. Lunch and dinner spreads are arranged on a pre-order basis, in the buffet style, according to a pre-set menu. A snacks and beverages menu is available for room service for the in-between times. Our special herbal teas and Kumaoni thaali are surely a hit! From the comforts of your bed, you will find it hard to take your eyes off the mountains at a distance. Or else, you can curl up with the book you have been, for so long, trying to read in peace. When you step outside, you can either do nothing. And love it. Or you can: Go trekking Walk downhill to the stream, or uphill to the village temple. Or hike through the orchards to the hamlet. You can even walk to Mukteshwar and back in one day. Trek guided by a local person also arranged on extra charges. Get to know the jungle There are many scenic treks around our village, Nathuakhan. And once you have hit the steep dirt path, you will recognise the rewards that come with each bend. Weight loss, if any, will be just incidental. Lunch in the open Enjoy the spread on one of the terraces outside the cottage, or take a picnic basket along Bonfire Warm up around the bonfire and grill your snacks on the flames lit right outside your room. Experience village life and step cultivation Take a close look at the way of living of the local people. Visit their houses, watch them milk cows, sow or harvest the seasonal crops, and taste local delicacies like Madwe ki roti and Bhatt ki dal. Remnants of many ‘forgotten’ practices can still be seen here, like the ‘pan chakki’ (a grinding machine that runs on river current) nearby. Go sight-seeing Visit the neighbouring tourist spots, including Mukteshwar (18 km), Nainital (45 km), Bhimtal (50 km), the paragliding centre at Naukuchiatal (45 km), Almora (40 km), Binsar (60 km), and Jageshwar (80 km). * Trips to these places are organized on request. Kitchen Usage - It is restricted to our staff only preparing meals exclusively for the in house guests. All meals ir breakfast , lunch and dinner are chargeable as per the set menu.
