Sunderland Guest House The space This gorgeous guest house, featuring stunning views of Mount Equinox and thoughtful upgrades throughout, is an outdoor enthusiast's dream! The light-filled interior has been lovingly renovated with fresh paint, high-end, eye-catching light fixtures, and completely updated bathrooms with all-new tile, paint, vanities, and fixtures. The great room is a true showstopper, with a wood stove insert anchoring the open living space. Gather on the sectional, tickle the ivories on the piano, and simply take in the countryside views. (The field is filled with Black-eyed Susans by late summer!) Create crowd-pleasing recipes in the sleek kitchen outfitted with a full suite of appliances, a coffee bar, and breakfast bar seating. Savor homemade meals at the adjacent large dining table or dine alfresco on the deck, complete with a picnic table. Step out to the patio, where you'll find several covered seating areas, a gas grill at the ready for homestyle cookouts, and a firepit inviting conversation under the stars. This house is conveniently located near Bromley Mountain and the town of Manchester, home of Orvis, one of the top fly fishing brands in the Northeast. Bromley Mountain offers skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, and a kid-friendly ski area. During the warmer months, enjoy kayaking and tubing on the Battenkill River, while Emerald Lake is close by for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boating. Or, enjoy a tour of Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home, 4.5 miles away. The drive up to Mount Equinox on Skyline Drive (the longest private toll road in the country) is only minutes away and offers some of the most spectacular views in Southern Vermont. Things to Know Maximum occupancy is 8 total, but this home is comfortable for up to 7 adults and a child. The kitchen is not equipped with an oven. Guest access The guest house is located at the end of the driveway, separate from the other buildings on the property. Entry is via a smart lock at the main entrance to the cottage. If you need the backup key box, it's mounted on the side of the house to the right of the door. A video guide to entry is available in your confirmation email. Other things to note The home is equipped with three heat pump units for heating and cooling. Radiator-style space heaters are available in three bedrooms for added comfort, and portable heaters and fans are also in the bedrooms downstairs to help circulate air as needed.
