Yogen-an is a renovated traditional Japanese inn that was relocated from a farmhouse in Echigo (Niigata Prefecture) to Shinshu (Nagano Prefecture).Tatami, fusuma, shoji, shoji, boardroom, irori fireplace, cypress bath, and Japanese tradition in a house that has endured the heavy pressure of falling snow for more than 150 years.And we have experience classes such as Japanese traditional food (agar, etc.) and home cooking (optional).Why not get away from the convenience of city life and try an extraordinary, relaxed country life. Origin of name 　Yuen-an was named after our ancestor "Gengen", who was a Buddhist monk.It has been reported that this place was Terakoya during the Edo period.At Joken-an, while retrospecting about the time of Terakoya, we prepare a place to learn about Japanese food using the expertise of the host's food. Location There is Genguan an almost in the middle of Nagano Prefecture at an altitude of 850 meters (Shiojiri City), a place slightly south of the Chuo Watershed Pass.It is very close to National Route 153 and is easy to understand.In the past, the land was filled with laid-back countryside landscapes that appeared as a “pillowed legend” during the Heian period.It is convenient to go anywhere with Matsumoto Castle, Kamikochi, Lake Suwa, Narai-juku, and Komagatake Senjojiki.　　　　　　 The space 　The annex is not rented as a whole, but as a private lodging that rents out guest rooms. Spacious 2-consecutive Japanese-style rooms (2 rooms, 8 tatami mats each) with futons for you to rest on. The bathroom is a cypress bath, and the bathtub, walls, and floors are all made of cypress wood. It is not a hot spring, but please enjoy the scent of cypress while relaxing in the bath. In the 15-tatami-mat room with a traditional Japanese sunken fireplace, we hope that you will gather around a large table and have a lively conversation in a cozy atmosphere. You can warm up pre-cooked dishes on it. WiFi is available, but there is no TV or air conditioner. Please be careful not to get hurt by bumping into low ceilings, pillars, desks, etc. as it is an old house. Please be especially mindful of small children. Sounds echo well in a quiet village.
