Perfectly placed in this thriving village deep in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this hideaway is walking distance of the pubs, shops, and tearoom. Built in the 1800's, this cottage is tucked away at the top of the village offering an ideal base all year round for walking and sightseeing. Whether you wish to leave the car and take the Dales bus through Wensleydale, stopping off at Hawes, or explore further afield and head out for the day to many of the attractions North Yorkshire has to offer; Malham Cove being one of our favourites. From the moment you step through the main entrance, Burn Cottage offers a home from home feel, with comfort and relaxation. Retaining much of its original charm, there are beamed ceilings and a cosy fireplace with multi fuel stove - perfect after a busy day with family or friends. The welcoming sitting room leads through to a delightful, spacious farmhouse kitchen and dining room, complemented with a ground floor shower room and separate WC. When it's time to retire for the night, take the stairs from the kitchen to discover the light and airy master bedroom overlooking the front of the cottage, the pretty second bedroom with views of the countryside to the rear, and the cosy single bedroom and family bathroom. To the rear of the cottage is a small courtyard area with a bistro table and two chairs awaiting you for morning coffee, or a glass of wine on a balmy summers evening. You are never far away from homemade Yorkshire pub grub with neighbouring villages Aysgarth, Bainbridge, or Leyburn all having plenty of eateries to choose from, or just pop down the road to The Crown. With walks and cycle routes for all levels of experience right from your doorstep, Burn Cottage really is the place for a well-deserved break in the Yorkshire Dales. Head over the hill to Muker and discover Swaledale, or wander down to the site of Special Scientific Interest Askrigg Bottoms meadows in the middle of June, perfect for stretching your legs before a bite to eat at the local tearoom, The Bake-Well. Additional Information: A starter pack of coal is provided to keep you going for the first night. Children and infants welcome. However no equipment is provided. Sorry, no pets. Guest access Ground Floor: Entrance porch leading to Sitting room With an fireplace, television with Sky and DVD player, two sofas and one armchair. Kitchen and dining area With an electric oven and hob, fridge, under counter freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, filter coffee maker, microwave, dining table and six chairs. Rear hallway leading to Cloakroom With a WC Shower room With walk-in shower and hand-held shower overhead, heated towel rail and wash basin. First Floor: Bedroom one With a 5' king-size bed. Bedroom two With a 4'6 double bed. Bedroom three With a single bed. Family bathroom With a bath, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. Outside: Enclosed rear courtyard with bistro table and two chairs. Free on-street parking next to the cottage, with a small free car park in the village just along from the cottage.
