The Kugy Refuge is a former masonry mill, now a CAI hiking refuge, immersed in the meadows of Valbruna and surrounded by the Carnic and Julian Alps. It offers a simple and authentic welcome, ideal for hikers and mountain lovers. The room is bright and cozy, with an open view of the meadows and essential alpine-style furnishings. A perfect starting point for walks and trekking, a haven of peace between nature and silence. The space The room is on the first floor of the Kugy Refuge, with an open view of the meadows of Valbruna and the Carnic and Julian Alps, among the houses of the village, in the center of the village. Furnished in a simple and alpine style, it offers a double bed, two nightstands, and a pine wood closet. The private bathroom is complete with a shower, toilet, sink with mirror, hairdryer, soap, body wash, makeup remover wipes, and towels. Curtains with edelweiss and a quilt with mountain motifs create a welcoming atmosphere. There are no TVs, elevators, or Wi-Fi in the room; the connection is available in the dining room. Ideal for those looking for tranquility and nature, with all services at your fingertips. Guest access Guests can access the breakfast room from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for a buffet breakfast during the opening hours of the same and enjoy a breakfast at a cost of 10 euros per person, booking it the night before. If the breakfast room is closed, you will find a complimentary mini breakfast in your room. Guests can access the refuge restaurant on opening days, which is generally open in the summer season for dinner in June and September on Fridays and Saturdays, every day except Tuesdays in July and August. For updates on the opening of the restaurant, follow the posts published on the "Rifugio Kugy" Facebook page and on I. Reservations are appreciated. In summer, there is also a beautiful garden with a wooden terrace where you can enjoy a drink. Other things to note Upon your arrival, you will be given a couple of keys to access the shelter. We kindly ask you to always lock the front door, both when you leave and when you return, to ensure the safety of all guests. Check-out is by 10:00 a.m. Upon departure, we invite you to leave the keys in the lock of the front door. To access the upper floors of the refuge, where the rooms are located, it is mandatory to remove shoes and boots, as is customary in mountain refuges.
