Panormo is a small coastal village located approx. 20 km east of Rethymno at a small distance from the national road. It has 372 permanent residents and is the seat of the municipality of the same name. The village provides quite, a few tourist facilities such as hotels, apartments, lovely taverns and bars. Panormo village itself is picturesque while having all amenities, from supermarkets and bars to restaurants and tavernas just by the seaside. The fully organized beach offers all kinds of watersports and a nearby diving center. Panormo belongs to the network of “the most beautiful villages of Crete” and is located in the North Coast of Crete, 22 kilometers East from Rethymno and 55 West from Heraklion. The lovers of the natural landscape will admire the estuaries of the Geropotamos, which form a charming lake and also an amazing beach. In the cave of Hondrokavos, which is about 800 meters from the village, there is an exquisite lighthouse up in the hill, where you can enjoy a superb view of the sea and the land.
