Set within the Dartmoor national park, in the stunning Teign valley , The Nook is a sanctuary of calm. Situated down a private track surrounded by nature and the backdrop of a babbling brook. A rural escape yet only 15 mins to the historic city of Exeter, A 38 & A30 . Within easy reach of many of the delights of Devon and just a 2 min walk from the local pub. Tastefully decorated, the Nook is a comfortable and welcoming space for couples or individuals seeking a peaceful, homely getaway. The space The Nook is a spacious, double bedroom, self contained mini house. It has everything you need for a cosy and comfortable break. Tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Entrance is through a light and spacious sunroom. Theres plenty of room for coats , shoes , waterproofs etc and a pleasant place to sit in sunshine or rain . We ask that you please don’t wear shoes inside so slippers may be needed in the colder months. You will find everything you need to make complete meals in the well equipped kitchen. Its a cheerful sociable space having a breakfast bar dividing it from the dining/work area. The ethnic inspired hallway is a cosy and colourful place to sit, theres an original church bench offering a place to pause for thought. From the bedroom there is a view across the front garden to the brook ,the sound of which is an ever present backdrop often accompanied by owls at night and many other birds in the daytime. All bed linen is 100% cotton. French doors open onto the garden from the living room, which is light and spacious.Theres a SMART TV to access your Netflix and Amazon accounts as well as a DVD player and a selection of movies. Please note that there is not access to live TV. The garden has a picnic bench for outdoor dining and a large sun umbrella for the hot weather. Guests can take a stroll up our track and enjoy the nature that surrounds us. Many wonderful walking routes in the area and OS maps available to borrow. Guest access Guests can park in the driveway or directly infront . You have a private entrance through the sunroom to the kitchen. Other things to note There is very limited mobile phone signal in the valley so guests can enable Wifi calling on their phones whilst indoors , the internet is very good and reliable. The nearest signal away from the house is a few mins walk in direction of pub ! This is a 100 year old property , we have thought of everything for guests comfort, that said it is not a hi tech super heated modern building. If you require 24 hour heating its probably not for you, its for those who love peace and proximity to the natural world in a cosy and homely enviroment. We do not use highly fragranced chemical cleaning products preferring more natural solutions which are kinder to the environment and in keeping with our ethics, care and cleanliness being foremost.
