Today, the property sits on a peaceful, one-acre lot in a family-friendly neighborhood known for its towering trees, quiet atmosphere, and safe, walkable surroundings. Though it feels like a peaceful retreat deep in the woods, you're just a 3-minute drive from both downtown Bellingham and historic Fairhaven. You’ll enjoy total privacy with your own private entrance. From Memorial Day through October 1, you’ll also enjoy exclusive use of a partitioned private patio, complete with cozy seating and a sparkling blue glass fire table—perfect for morning coffee or winding down under the stars. Here, nature is part of the experience. You can enjoy the sounds of owls hooting at night, frogs croaking from nearby trees, and may even spot our resident momma and baby deer pair who often roam the property. Guests love the serenity of this setting, as well as the easy access to nearby nature and adventure. Within the Samish Hill neighborhood, local residents and guests have been granted the privilege of using hiking trails traversing 20 acres of privately-owned land, with panoramic views of Bellingham Bay, the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges. Whether you're here to relax or explore, you'll have no shortage of things to do! (*Memorial Day-October 1st) Other things to note Your private suite, bathroom, and private patio are exclusively yours during your stay—no sharing with other guests or the host’s family. Please note that all other areas of the property, including additional seating areas beyond your fenced patio, are private and not accessible to guests. Kindly do not wander outside the designated fenced yard and *shared full kitchen/laundry space. *Laundry facilities are shared and only provided for guests staying 2+ nights. Please be considerate to remove your items immediately after each laundry cycle and leave the space tidy for the next person. We are a PFAS-free household, which means only the provided detergent and fabric conditioner may be used. No outside laundry products or fabric softener sheets, please. The 5600 sq. ft. fenced yard includes 2 BBQ grills, dedicated outdoor seating spaces for guests, laundry and cooking facilities. There is room to bring your bikes, kayaks and other activity gear into the private yard, so you don’t have to store any valuables in your car. As a precaution, I ask that guests bring cut-proof locks to secure anything that could be burgled. This is a very safe neighborhood, but homelessness and crime are everywhere and unfortunately, incidents of theft do occasionally happen—even in a nice neighborhood like ours. Our house is set back 150’ from the main road and is built on a moderate incline. While the apartment entrance is ADA width and has an access ramp, the elevation gain of the property may be unsuitable for guests with severely limited mobility.
