Description

Escape to paradise with our 3-day San Blas island hopping tour. This all-inclusive group tour covers everything you need to fully experience the beauty & adventure of the islands, incl. transportation from Panama City, meals, accommodations & island visits. Not included: entrance fee (22$ pP), drinks/beverages. Explore multiple islands, snorkel crystal-clear waters and relax on pristine beaches throughout the day. At night, enjoy a stunning night sky & sleep in your cabin on the beach The space Group size: ca. 4-14 people. Accommodation: we sleep both nights on a different island (potential islands: Miriyadup, Naranjo Chico, Aroma, Iguana, Tubasenika, or similar - depending on availability). All islands have a beach to swim and host a couple of typical, simple cabins with a common area and a restaurant. Private cabin only for your group, not shared. Bathrooms & common areas shared with the group and other guests. Cabin styles differ by island: simple, thatched huts with sand floor or upscale wooden cabins, depending on where we will sleep that night. All are equipped with western-style bed with mattresses, pillow, sheets. Shared bathrooms with simple, western-style shower & toilet, no warm water. Private cabins for 2-6 people of the same group, during off-season single bookings also available. Meals: meals will be served 3 times a day, starting with lunch on Day 1 and ending with lunch on Day 3. Set meals, typically consisting of either fish or chicken with rice/plantains/potatoes and some vegetables/beans/lentils and/or salad. Vegan and vegetarian options available Please let us know beforehand your preferences and dietary restrictions. Please understand that variety and options are limited due to the remote location of the San Blas Islands. One comment: A visit to the San Blas Islands promises a unique experience unlike any other vacation you’ve taken. The local Kuna people own and operate all businesses in San Blas by law, foreign investments are prohibited and foreigners/Panamanians are not allowed to conduct any business or work in San Blas, so you’ll have a chance to engage with the community and support their economy. Most of the cabins are managed by large families, providing livelihoods for many locals who have lived on the islands for generations, with limited exposure to the hospitality industry. As you can imagine, great effort is required to provide a basic service to tourists and the locals do it to the best of their knowledge, and we ask that you leave behind any expectations that you may have from mainland life. The simplicity of the cabins reflects a blend of traditional lifestyles and expensive material sourcing as external funding is prohibited. Likewise, the meals served are mostly based on local food patterns such as fish or seafood with rice, with limited access and attempts to cater to foreign tastes with some sides and salads. Drinking water is a luxury, that needs to be imported from Panama City, and electricity and fresh water require great effort to provide, with usage times sometimes limited. Bed linens are either washed by hand in the river on the mainland or sent to Panama City. There is no communal trash collection or recycling system, and only a few locals speak English, with some not even speaking Spanish. Guest access Private cabin, common areas, island, beach. Kitchen cannot be used by guests. Other things to note Itinerary: Day 1: pickup in Panama City, 5-5:30am and drive to the port in Cartí. Here, switch into the boat and start with island visits throughout the day. Afternoon: arrival on the island for the night, sleeping in cabin on the beach. Lunch & Dinner included. Day 2: Breakfast. Continuation with island hopping throughout the day incl. lunch. Arrival on the island for the second night, dinner, sleeping in a cabin on the beach. Day 3: Breakfast. Either some more island hopping or enjoying the final day on the last island. Lunch. Afternoon: return to the port, return to Panama City, arrival ca. 7pm. We aim to visit at least 6+ islands throughout these 3 days and a natural pool. Exemplary islands to be visited can, but must not be: Isla Perro, Anmardup, Isla Banedup, Isla Miriyadup, Naranjo Chico, Cayos Holandeses, Iguana, or similar and many unnamed islands. Itineraries are subject to short-term changes due to island closures, overcrowding, weather/sea conditions, etc. Packing list: Mandatory: passport, cash Recommended: solar protection, drinking water, towels & toiletries (not provided), sandals, swimming gear, flash light, plastic bag to protect valuable belongings during boat ride Included: Transport from Panama City to San Blas & back (shared 4x4) Island visits incl. island fees 2 nights accommodation (in two islands) Boat transport between islands (speed boat) Meals (vegetarian/vegan options available) Breath-taking nature & laid-back island life Knowledgeable, local guide 3 full days - max. island time Price Excludes Entrance & port fee to San Blas ($ 22 USD adults, $5 USD children 9 or younger) Beverages, drinks, snacks (bring or buy) Sunscreen, towels and personal items
