We are excited to share our 3 bedroom, two story residential home on the “Quietside” of Mount Desert Island. A 15 minute walk to the nearby shore and town pier. You will be 5-10 minute drive from some of Acadia National Park attractions and hiking trails; i.e. Bass Harbor Headlight, Ship Harbor, Wonderland, Flying Mountain and Seawall Picnic Area. (a great spot to see the Sunrise). Long Pond and Echo Lake are close by locations for kayaking and swimming. Bar Harbor is a 20 minute drive. The space We grew up in this house and inherited it from our parents. With the amazing skills of our partners combined with our dream of creating a coastal retreat for guests we lovingly renovated our nearly 100 year old house. The two story house has everything you will need for your stay. Enjoy your morning coffee watching the deer on the sunny deck or in the rocking chairs on the front porch before heading out to enjoy your daily adventures. A badminton game is ready to play in the back yard! The three bedrooms (king, queen and two twin beds) are located on the second floor along with one of the two full bathrooms. There is a Pack'nPlay available, bedding must be provided by guests to meet your babies needs. Spacious fully equipped kitchen with seating for 6 at the table. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and can enjoy the deck, front porch and backyard. There are parking spaces for three cars. Other things to note Nearby is Peter Trout’s Pub on the shore, (walk-able). A 5 minute drive from the house you will find the village of Southwest Harbor. In town there are several eateries and unique local gift shops. Next Level Sports Bar, Hearth & And Table, Little Notch Bakery, Dry Dock Restaurant, Salt Shoppe (ice-cream, baked goods, foods, gifts), Eat A Pita Restaurant, Common Good (popovers and live music), Red Sky Restaurant, Bub’s Burritos. Sawyers Market (groceries) and Sawyers Specialties (wine/cheese). Carroll’s Drug Store (pharmacy and gifts). Just a little further drive and you will find Milagro’s (bakery/coffee shop, best blueberry scone), The Southwest Harbor Liquor Locker, Burkes’s Hollow Florist and Gift Shoppe (made in Maine, Haven Chocolates), The Southwest Harbor Foodmart (grocery store), Beal’s Lobster Pier, The Claremont Restaurant. A short drive to the village of Bass Harbor you will find more options for eating. Archie’s Lobster, (on the ocean), Seaside Take Out, Quietside Snacks and Thurston’s Lobster Pound. We have listed just a few of the great local places to eat and shop, there are many more hidden gems to find and enjoy! A Few of the Things to Do In Southwest Harbor, opening summer 2023 Golf of Maine, an 18 hole Miniature Golf course. Each hole will detail aspects of the Gulf of Maine, from its history to sea life. There will also be touch tanks as well as a live-feed camera of real fishermen out at sea. Causeway Golf Club Rhodes Park and Butterfly Garden is a must see local attraction. Beautiful gardens, picnic tables, swings for little ones. Story times in the summer. A great place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful flowers and shoreline (and many butterflies). A beautiful library, Southwest Harbor Public Library Wendall Gilley Museum (bird carvings) Fishing Tours Boat, kayak and bicycle rentals
