Large deck and sun-loungers by the swimming pond. We use the garden too, it’s part of our home but there is plenty of opportunity for privacy. The space Beautiful 25m swimming pond surrounded by mature oak trees in a stunning setting. To one end of the pond is a new sauna and hot tub building all heated via a log burner. We have plenty of wood so come and light your fire then relax in the sauna, cold dip in the pond and unwind in the hot tub. This is the traditional way the Swedish enjoy their sauna, they warm up in the sauna then cool off in the “Isvak” (cold water) you really must experience this it’s so relaxing. Perfect combination for the ultimate spa getaway. Large camp fire area, perfect for evening fires and a chat. Kids love it (adult supervision required!) 6 a side size football pitch with 2 goals. Bring your own ball as our dogs generally loose all ours. The guest house has a large single room with Kingsize double bed, double sofa-bed and TV, small dining set and small kitchen with basic cooking facilities. En-suite with large shower. WiFi in the guest house is very good and also available by the pond/sauna/hot tub arrangement. The garden is also part of our home so we regularly use it along with our friends. We recognise people come to the air B&B to mainly use the sauna/tub and pond and that they want their own time to enjoy the space. If we have guest and we plan to use the pond area we’ll let you know and work around each other. It really has never been a problem. Some of us use the pond early in the morning for some relaxation time, it’s a beautiful time of day to be down there. We wouldn’t coordinate mornings as it’s normally free but we’re very happy to chat closer to your visit. Guest access Guests can access all of the guest house which is on the first floor. Guests are welcome to explore the garden, use the fire area, the swimming pond, the new sauna and hot tub all fired with a log burner which you’ll need to light. Please note the garden is part of our home not just the Air B&B, we also regularly use the pond, hot tub and sauna including our children and friends. You’ll likely have plenty of privacy in the evenings and through the day and we often discuss when you arrive what our plans are so we can work around each other. We also have full time gardeners who will be carrying out tasks in the garden from 8am - 4:30pm during weekdays. Please note the guest house is on the first floor and access is via an outside timber staircase. The staircase is solid and well built with a handrail, but may be harder for people to access who are not too strong in their feet and not ideal for disabled people. Other things to note Before you book We've opened up our guest house and garden so people can enjoy it. It also covers some of the heavy cost of keeping three acres looking the way it does. If you'd like to come and experience it, we'd love to have you. We both work full time and we have kids and dogs, so we can't answer questions on the app before you book, and we're not a concierge service once you arrive. This is the only way we can run this alongside everything else. If that doesn't suit, please do look elsewhere. Once you've booked we're happy to go through anything specific about your stay, usually a day or so before you arrive. Our gardener is here most days Monday to Friday while you're with us and will be very happy to assist. Minimum stay Two nights minimum. It's set on the app and we don't make exceptions. Cost The price is as advertised. We don't consider discounts. Availability The calendar is accurate and always up to date. If a date shows as free, it's free. If it's blocked, it's not. The garden, pond, sauna and hot tub Worth reading this bit properly. The guest house sits in our garden, which is three acres. It's our home and we use all of it, the pond, sauna and hot tub included. Sometimes that's planned and often it's a decision made just beforehand on a nice morning. However there are plenty of hours in a stay, so in practice there's always time and space for guests to have the pond to themselves. Over 200 bookings and it has never once been an issue. But we won't be checking with you before we walk down our own garden. If you'd rather have somewhere entirely to yourself, please book elsewhere. The sauna, pond and hot tub are open all year, including when it's freezing. The pond is a proper cold plunge after the sauna. Entry is at your own risk, always. Dogs Ours are lovely with people but funny about other dogs in their garden, so we can't take pets. Sorry. We have the utmost respect for our guests and their privacy, and we only ask for the same back.
