Charming 2BR/1 Bath 1930's home in beautiful, historic neighborhood. Large, private lot, with a fenced backyard, in the heart of Tyler. Convenient location, close to the medical district, universities, downtown square, coffee shops, restaurants, & parks. Enjoy a walk in the quiet neighborhood or relax or swing on one of two covered porches. Enjoy the warmth & coziness of an older home, with modern touches, along with a large, comfortable living room, a fully equipped kitchen, & high speed WiFi. The space The interior of this historic home, built in the 1930's, offers the warm, cozy feel of an older home, with a touch of modern decor. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the works of several local artists while staying at the Wiley House. The home sits on a large lot, surrounded by mature trees , in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. BEDROOMS: The home offers 2 bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and one with a Queen bed and Twin XL trundle bed; all beds have gel foam mattresses and high-quality linens. Both bedrooms have room-darkening curtains, closet space, 40" Smart TVs, bedside tables with lamps and charging stations, luggage racks, and ceiling fans. Both bedrooms also have dressers. One bedroom has a rocking chair. Additional sleeping space for 1 person is available in the living room (a twin sofa bed) . DEDICATED WORKSPACE: The workspace is in a common area, (off the kitchen) and is equipped with a large desk, an executive chair, and basic office supplies. KITCHEN: The updated kitchen provides guests with everything needed to prepare meals during their stay: all appliances, a variety of small appliances, pots/pans/skillets, bakeware, and all utensils. Other amenities in the kitchen include: Microwave Stove/Oven Refrigerator/freezer Dishwasher Keurig Coffeemaker Drip coffeemaker French press coffeemaker Assortment of K-cups Coffee mugs Instant hot water kettle for tea Blender Toaster Cookie sheets Baking pans Hand mixer Dinnerware- plates, bowls, etc. Drinkware Wine glasses, wine opener Silverware Set of cutting and steak knives Pots w/lids and skillets Spice rack Mixing bowls Measuring cups/spoons Hand towels Paper towels Cleaning products Foil, plastic wrap, plastic ziplock bags Some basic baking ingredients/supplies - (baking soda, baking powder, non-stick cooking spray, vegetable oil, vanilla, salt) LAUNDRY: A full-size washer and dryer are conveniently located right off the kitchen. Iron and ironing board are also available. EXTERIOR: The home has two covered porches; the front porch has a swing and the back porch (with 2 Adirondack chairs and wind chimes) overlooks the beautiful backyard. Large fenced backyard. NO PETS ALLOWED. PARKING: Covered carport (with access to back and front doors) and free street parking. DINING and LIVING ROOMS: Formal dining room with seating for 6. The large, comfortable living room has 2 couches, a La-Z-Boy swivel/rocking recliner, and plenty of seating for family and friends, a 55" Smart TV, and is stocked with blankets, games, and puzzles. NEIGHBORHOOD: If you enjoy walking, this beautiful, historic neighborhood is perfect for you. Guest access Guests have the entire property to themselves. The house is on a large, private lot in a quiet neighborhood. Self check-in with a digital keypad. Other things to note SUPPLIES: We provide starters of toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, soaps, toiletries, and coffee. Please note that you will need to purchase additional supplies if/when needed. BABY ITEMS: There is a pack-n-play (with sheets and blankets) and a booster seat available ADDITIONAL FEES: Fee for additional guests: $25 fee per night for each guest in excess of 4 guests in the reservation (up to a maximum of 6 total guests) Fee for late check-out (no later than 1:00 pm (w/pre-approval): $40 Fee for smoking: $300 Fee for violating house rule about no parties/events: $300 DRIVEWAY: The driveway is narrow. I am able to pull my Toyota Grand Highlander up and down the driveway with no problem. We have installed reflective bumps and several reflector poles along the edges of the driveway to help guide guests (who feel nervous about backing out or who have large vehicles) back down the driveway. If a guest still feels uncomfortable backing down the driveway, they are welcome to park on the street and walk up to the house; if you choose to park on the street, please know that the walk from the street to the house (about 25 yards) is uphill.
