Other things to note The Oltrarno Neighborhood: Our apartment is situated in the historic Oltrarno district, one of the most traditional areas of the city, maintaining authentic features and characteristics. It is a favorite among Florentines, affectionately referred to with the Tuscan nickname "Diladdarno." Tourist attractions abound, offering cultural experiences for all tastes: the Brancacci Chapel in the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine with the splendid frescoes by Masaccio, Masolino, and Filippino Lippi, as well as the Church of San Frediano in Cestello, or the Church of Santa Felicita with the altarpiece by Pontormo. Numerous museums, with Palazzo Pitti hosting most of them, from the Palatine Gallery to the Costume Gallery, the Modern Art Gallery, to the Silver Museum. It is a green neighborhood with gardens and outdoor spaces, such as the wonderful Boboli Gardens and the garden of Villa Bardini, offering an incredible view of Florence. A walk to the Church of San Miniato al Monte, the highest in the city, and the nearby Piazzale Michelangelo with a panorama envied by all, is a must. Transportation and Services: Our apartment is within the restricted traffic zone (ZTL), and to access it and park your car safely, you can turn to a private garage to obtain a temporary access permit. Public bus service in Florence is provided by Autolinee Toscane, and the ticket costs €1.50 for a single ride within the city limits, available at a Tabaccaio (a shop with a "T" sign outside).
