Across the road from the Caribbean, 15 minutes from Hewannora International Airport, Flip-Flops is on the southwest coast of St. Lucia, along the highway from the village of Laborie. The apartment looks out directly at the Caribbean with views of St Vincent. The private pool is surrounded by gardens. The apartment is fully furnished and equipped to modern standards. The apartment is suitable for couples. There is a superking size bed. There are two steps up to the shower room. The kitchen area is equipped to a good standard including a large fridge freezer, a four burner cooker with oven, microwave and the usual kitchen facilities. Everything you will need to cook snacks and simple meals. The lounge area has a rattan suite and a dining table and chairs for two. A 55 inch Sony TV allows access to Netflix and has a firestick. There is good, free internet access. The apartment is situated below the main house but has its own access and garden area. At present the area below is being planted with a wide variety of fruit trees. The driveway to the house is from the Main Highway in the Sapphire area (known as Saffie locally). The access to parking and the apartment is gated. The apartment is independent of the house and resident guests have the sole use of the pool during their stay. The apartment is not suitable for children. The apartment will be fully serviced and ready for your arrival. If you would like anything prepared for your arrival, please let us know. We'll leave a welcome guide for you which will include all the information you'll need for the apartment, as well as local information. We can arrange deliveries from a local chef or arrange reservations. If you are arriving on a Sunday afternoon or on a public holiday, please let us know if you would like basic provisions arranged. The main local supermarket closes half day on Sundays, and some holidays. It closes for two days at Christmas and New Year. We live upstairs and will be delighted to help with any questions you may have. The apartment is located within walking distance, along the road, of the village of Laborie on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. International flights arrive at Hewannora Airport and we can arrange to collect you from the airport if you are not hiring a car. The small Saffie beach is across the road and the popular Rudi John and Laborie beaches are accessible through the village. Local mini buses will stop near the bottom of the drive. The highway continues past the apartment to the many tourist attractions of Choiseul, Soufriere and the Pitons where there are excellent opportunities for diving, snorkelling and hiking. The volcano tour, mud baths and sulphur springs are easily accessed. Laborie is a traditional fishing village and is very much a strong community. The Laborians are very warm, welcoming people. St Lucia is a small island, just about 27 miles by 14 miles with one highway going up the Atlantic coast and another up the Caribbean coast. The tourist spots of the north of the island via the capital Castries can be accessed by road, helicopter or by a privately arranged boat. The helicopter ride to the small airport at Castries takes about 10 minutes, a boat journey from Soufriere about an hour and the drive approximately 1 1/2 hours. A new ferry service may be in operation soon from the nearby town of Vieux Fort. One of the main features of the apartment is the ease of access via the main highway and proximity to the beach, either by car or on foot. This does mean that there is some road and beach noise at times however.
