A quirky, old miners cottage set in the heart of the village! With the Cleveland Way just a stones throw away Storm Cottage is perfect for walkers, explorers and those wanting to enjoy the beautiful, rugged north-east coast. Cattersty Sands, Skinningrove, Saltburn, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby are all only a short distance away, as are the stunning North York moors! Storm Cottage is dog friendly and child friendly, making it a perfect hideaway to make those everlasting family memories. The space Storm Cottage is a dog friendly gem of a hideaway in an old miners cottage, close to the beautiful hidden beach of Cattersty Sands and only a short drive away from the likes of Saltburn, Staithes, Runswick, Whitby and the stunning North York moors! As you enter through the front gate and down two steps, be sure to take a moment to smell the beautiful wild flowers in the front garden and see if you can spot any butterflies. The path will lead you to our bright 'cornflower blue' front door, where you will be welcomed into the living space to your left. The living room has a calming, quirky, nautical feel to it, taking inspiration from our rugged coastline and sandy beaches that we are lucky to be based near. The living room promptes some of our favourite local areas on the wall, has cosy mood lighting and a large flat screen TV making it the perfect place to relax after a days exploring. You will also find a range of board games so you can enoy a family games night and some books on the shelf if you fancy settling down in front of the fire with a hot drink. From the living room enter our modern fitted kitchen, equipped with everything you need to make lovely family meals, enjoy a freshly brewed Yorkshire cuppa or knock up a hearty full-english. We have a lovely space saving dining table which can be pulled out and extended so all the family can sit around and chat about their day. Upstairs you'll find our two bedrooms and family bathrooms. The first bedroom as you reach the top of the stairs is home to our modern, full sized single bunk beds. With a subtle nautical theme this room is perfect for children or also a single adult. In this room you will find a range of childrens books for those bedtime stories to help drop of to the land of nod. Next comes the family bathroom, a functional space offering a bath with an overhead shower, a WC and wash basin. The last room of the house is a calming, tranquil bedroom boasting a wooden double bed, dressed in soothing calm fabrics and a quilted throw for those cooler nights. A solid wood chest of drawers and built in cupboard provide ample storage for all your clothes during your stay. We've taken inspiration from our local countryside in this room, with an earthy colour palette and accessories, making it the perfect place to rest your head and get a peaceful nights sleep. We offer two bedrooms , modern kitchen and a nautical inspired living room. An enclosed front garden and hosts who are local to the area and passionate about promoting local businesses. Guest access Storm Cottage was built in the 1890s and therefore unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair use. There are 3 steps down into the front garden to reach the front door, and both bedrooms are on the first floor. Guests have access to the full property, and the key to the property will be accessed via a secure key safe. Full details will be provided to guests shortly before their arrival. There is no parking immediately outside the property. However there is ample free parking 30 seconds walk up the road near to the Chip Shop and Post Office. Please be considerate to our neighbours.
