This is a cosy one bedroom guest house at the serene upmarket Rosslyn Lone Tree Estate on the western suburbs of Nairobi city with ample space and a secure fenced compound with mature gardens within a bigger residential compound. It is approximately 1 km off Limuru Road opposite Runda Estate near Two Rivers and Rosslyn Riviera shopping malls. Australian, US, Swedish & other embassies as well as UNEP Hq are nearby. A number of our former guests are staff from these organisations. The cottage is situated within its own fenced compound a few metres away from the main house. It has a living room, an open plan kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with a bathtub, shower, sink and WC (48 sqm approx). There is also a laundry room with a sink which is secure enough to lock suitcases and other valuabkes in. We also have additional space in an incomplete house where other household goods can be stored in. There is high speed Internet, cable and satellite TV as well as adequate water storage. Movie lovers and sports enthusiasts can pay for Dstv at their preferred package. The green environment with big mature trees and gardens makes the place ideal for nature lovers. An avocado tree assures you adequate supply of fruits (when in season) and shade. Monkeys, a variety of birds and other small animals are occassionally spotted at our property. Guests can take a walk to Karura river which passes next to our property or along the estate road. It is safe to walk on the well lighted road even at night. The place is ideal for a couple. UN, Embassy staff, business and other visitors find it quite convenient. We warmly welcome you to enjoy the natural environment, peace and tranquility at our residence. Guests have their own independent access to the guest house with ample parking space. The main gate is shared. Interaction with the hosts and staff is minimal and happens only when necessary. Whenever possible, we value personal engagement on matters of mutual interest. We are usually around to attend to any guest needs and normally have an employee who can assist guests when needed. It is in order to tip him/her but not mandatory. Rosslyn Lone Tree estate has a unique character among Nairobi estates. It is one of few estates in Nairobi classified as a blue zone where UN and other embassies staff are recommended to stay in due to the good security and a number of other factors. It was recently rated the best in Nairobi by Cytonn, a leading real estate firm. It is clean, safe and secure with alot of greenery with diverse flora and fauna. It is free of noise and air pollution. It hosts a good number of senior government officials, leading business people and diplomats. It has the most diverse character of residents within Nairobi. Two Rivers, Rosslyn Riviera and Village Market shopping malls are in the vicinity. There are four golf courses within ten minutes drive as well as three five star hotels with heated swimming pools and well equipped gymnasiums. For a taste of real African life, you can visit the nearby Ruaka shopping center which has a vibrant day and night life. UNEP Headquarters, American, Canadian, Australian and a number of other Embassies are within a few minutes drive. Karura forest made famous by the late Wangari Mathai the Nobel Peace laureate is 5 km away. You can visit the nature trail there and join the hikers and joggers who regularly visit the facility. We are approximately 12 km from the City Center and within twenty minutes drive to four golf courses. Uber and other cab services are readily available. Public transport is within 10 minutes walk. For the more adventurous, motor bike (boda boda) services are also available nearby. Should the need arise, an extra bed can be provided at an additional cost. The booking price depends on whether one is single or not as well as the duration of the stay. There are discounts of up to 25% based on the duration. Cleaning charges are utilised in cleaning the house, contents and its compound before and after guests' entry. We also regularly paint the house and do other maintenance work on it. Our security normally comprises guard dogs as well as an estate emergency response team. The dogs are friendly to guests once they are introduced to them and do not have to go to their space unless allowed to do so. The security backup team is based at the estate road ready to offer necessary help when called to do so at any time of day or night. The cottage is fitted with a burglar alarm system with two panic buttons. Guests are advised to arm it when leaving the premises and at night. We have a secure lockable garage which is available for guests' cars near the main house. The daily rate varies based on duration. Guests can contact our caretaker for gate opening & closing or any other need. His contact will be provided upon arrival of the guest. Guests staying longer than five nights pay for electricity based on a meter reading at the utility provider rates. Dstv rates differ based on the preferred package.
