Small pantry area with electric induction table-top warmer, small microwave, and small fridge for food prep. Gas BBQ is right at your backdoor deck. HIgh-efficiency central heat and a/c. WALK OR BIKE out your front door and you are only a few blocks away from Lake Michigan: a) TURN LEFT pass Nelson Algren's cottage. When the road ends, there is a paving walking/biking trail which leads to the beautifully renovated Marquette Park. There is a looping bike path, along the road in the park. The park connects to Lake Michigan and beach where you will discover photographic sunsets, view of Chicago skyline across the lake, and wild natural sand dunes. While in the park, you might want to checkout the national registered Aquatorium Bathhouse, and the Marquette Park Pavilion designed by George Maher with Prairie School architecture. b) Or TURN RIGHT, and turn right again at the corner to cross the bridge to Lake Street Beach. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS (DRIVE): West Beach and hiking trail (5-10 mins). Mt Baldy (25 mins). Lighthouse Outlets In Michigan City (30 mins). Billy Boy's Blueberry Farm (35 mins). Recommend driving on route 12 instead of highway. It is especially scenic in spring and autumn, and there are points of interest along the way. Numerous local breweries in the area. Shoreline Brewery & Restaurant is next to the outlets. Guest(s) will be asked to email a picture ID directly to the host (in addition to airbnb standard verifications) before we send house entry instructions. Full access to the entire first floor (ground level) interior of the house, and all exterior spaces, such as wood deck and driveway for parking. You will need a car around here. Nearby attractions: West Beach and hiking trail ( 15 mins). Mt Baldy and beach (25 mins). Lighthouse Outlet In Michigan City (30 mins). Billy Boy's Blueberry Farm (35 mins). For a short-term rental of a week or less, host does not stay there during your stay. There will be no other people at the cottage during your stay. You will have a complete privacy; however, you will have an access to only the guest suite on 1st floor. The upper floors will be locked. For a long-term stay of a month or longer, there might be other people staying on 2nd floor. This could be the host or another guest (1 or 2 people). Entrances are separate - your guest suite is PRIVATE. The guest suite is comfortable hosting up to 4 people. 6 people is do-able but a little tight... Stove-top cooking is not allowed on 1st floor (there is no ventilation hood.) There is a pantry for food prep. Induction plate and microwave to warm up food. Slow cooker or instant pot are very welcome. Gas BBQ with a side stove is on wood deck. On 1st floor with a walk-in shower. It is not an ADA accessible unit but a very friendly space for a limited mobility guest. No party or loud music. Only pre-authorized guests are allowed on the property. No firework, please.
