Book now to experience the magic of Legoli The space Welcome to the house in Borgo, a cozy home in the heart of the ancient village of Legoli. This apartment, part of a charming three-story country-style home, will transport you to a magical atmosphere, between centuries-old traditions and details cared for with passion. Access is through a picturesque alley, where you can comfortably park your car. The ground floor of this house was used as an agricultural storage room where your laundry room with washing machine, dryer and drying rack is now installed, also accessible by other Airbnb guests from another property that I always have in the village. In the alley, you will find a new metal gate (on request it can be locked) that leads to the courtyard of your exclusive pertinence, an oasis of tranquility and greenery surrounded by ancient walls that guard secrets and stories of the past. This charming courtyard, paved with beole, offers tables and chairs for 6 people, a characteristic terracotta fountain and a wood storage area for winter evenings. The highlight of the courtyard is a modern staircase that climbs the embankment to an exclusive private terrace surrounded by greenery where you can refresh yourself in tranquility. Also from the courtyard you can access the external terracotta staircase that gives you access to your apartment. The entrance door, protected by a shuttered door, welcomes you into the charming dining room, an environment that still retains the charm of past centuries. The sloping ceiling with wooden beams and terracotta tiles, together with the antique furnishings and 16th century Montelupo "Harlequin" plates, create a unique and fascinating atmosphere. The kitchen, created inside a majestic wooden sideboard, is equipped with modern induction stoves and an integrated refrigerator, while a handcrafted wooden panel hides the dishwasher and the cutlery drawer. An antique wooden plate rack holds a special selection of plates and glasses and pots suitable for induction cooking. A large fireplace with wood stoves, like those used in past centuries, can be useful on winter days. This room also offers a table with 6 genuine leather chairs and a sofa bed that can be transformed into a double bed, ideal for emergencies or for the younger ones. In the room, there is a window from which you can admire the valley and a skylight from which daylight filters through a curtain and a modern smart television hanging on the wall next to the kitchen. The master bedroom welcomes you with its sloping ceiling, wooden beams and terracotta tiles, and the large double bed with wooden details. An antique 17th century noble chest of drawers is the most valuable piece of furniture in all of Legoli. A large wall cabinet/closet with wooden shutter door, a wall-mounted television and a window on the main road complete this romantic bedroom. The atmosphere is made even more intimate by soft and warm lighting. Another bedroom features a bunk bed and an antique dresser with a mirror and red marble top. A small window will give you a picturesque view of the main street of Legoli with the lively square of the bar in the distance, always animated by residents and tourists. The bathroom with large shower cabin with built-in window possibly obscured by a nice shower curtain, will allow you to relax and pamper yourself during your stay. We have not forgotten the heating system, with infrared booster in the bathroom, which will soften the winter days and the air conditioner that will cheer you up on hot summer days, as well as the fast internet connection, present both with wireless and with ethernet sockets to immediately share your memories or work in peace. In the house in the village, you will find meticulous care of the atmospheres, with paintings, bas-reliefs (the two plaster casts on antique wooden tables called “Vecchia Signa” obtained from 19th-century molds of Greek antiquities are valuable) decorations and antique furnishings that tell stories of times past. Lace, doilies and antique fabrics add a touch of timeless elegance. The original furniture has been carefully restored and the refinement of the details gives this place a unique charm, capable of making you dream and travel through time. Other things to note For those who love nature walks, there are two unmarked trails near Legoli in the hills that I have identified, see attached photos, on partially paved roads. There is also an equipped and protected natural area in the nearby town of Castelfalfi, 6 km from Legoli, see attached photos, which you can reach on foot with a nice walk but I recommend reaching it by car or bicycle. I would like to point out the following destinations that can be reached in a short time by car: Castelfalfi Just 5 km from Legoli is the visitor center where there is a 5-star SPA Hotel with services that can be enjoyed by all and golf courses in the green hills of Tuscany, famous internationally. You can also find swimming pools, sports, shops, services, a pharmacy and restaurants in a recently restored ancient village. Volterra 30 Km from Legoli Hill town 25 minutes' drive from Legoli, flourishing in the Etruscan period of which it preserves stretches of city walls with gates, the acropolis with excavations and a magnificent Etruscan museum with many important artifacts as well as a medieval residential complex and first-rate artistic and food and wine places. San Gimignano 30 km from Legoli UNESCO World Heritage Site (25-minute drive from Legoli). A small fortified medieval town, famous for its architecture, San Gimignano has managed to preserve fourteen towers of different heights that have become its international symbol. Considered the "New York of the Middle Ages" because of its ancient towers that crowd at its apex with art churches and museums (for strong tastes there is the museum of torture) in a timeless context San Vivaldo 12 Km from Legoli Shortly after Castelfalfi there is a masterpiece of art not at all advertised where, on a wooded hill with free access, there is the "little Jerusalem of Tuscany" including the 14 shrines of the Via Crucis represented with 16th-century statues and bas-reliefs in polychrome terracotta from the Della Robbia workshop Certaldo 30 Km from Legoli Etruscan-Medieval city that gave birth to Boccaccio and consists of a lower city and, taking the cable car, the upper city with a characteristic medieval layout Lari 25 Km from Legoli It preserves numerous remains of its illustrious past when it was in fact the capital of the Pisan Hills. The city has been awarded the Orange Flag, a mark of tourism-environmental quality awarded by the Italian Touring Club to the small towns of the Tuscan hinterland. Famous for the "Cherry Festival" held every year in Lari on the last weekend of May and the first weekend of June; "Collinarea" instead is an event of music, theater, workshops and entertainment that usually takes place in July. Toiano and Villa Saletta 10 Km from Legoli Two abandoned villages a short distance from Legoli in the Tuscan hills, in a crystallized and dreamy agricultural setting with splendid scenery little or not at all frequented. Monteriggioni 50 Km from Legoli Fortified village with walls and towers with perfect medieval geometry. The place is in its forms, halfway between a castle and a hilltop village and its tower layout, also sung in Dante's Inferno, inspired the crown that decorates the head of the female impersonation of Italy in coins and Risorgimento prints. Small, unique and exciting San Galgano 80 km from Legoli Medieval abbey where only the immense walls with windows and rosettes that open into the void remain. The sky and the clouds are the church's roof. Appeared in several films for a unique emotion Collodi 50 km from Legoli Medieval village at the foot of the Apennines, it is linked to the name of Carlo Lorenzini, author of Pinocchio. The Florentine writer spent part of his childhood there and took its name, signing himself Carlo Collodi. In fact, it is located in the park of the beautiful Villa Garzoni among Italian gardens embellished with myriads of local specialty flowers, the PINOCCHIO PARK, a unique attraction for children where dozens of life-size scenes from the book with the famous puppet are reproduced. Sea 60 km away and beyond from Legoli The sea in Tuscany is magnificent and the locations are wasted from the most popular and nearby with beaches such as Tirrenia, Cecina, SanVincenzo to more exclusive places with rocks such as Castiglioncello, Baratti, Popuonia. A little further away, there are also trendier seaside resorts such as Viareggio, known for its boulevard just over 2 km long with trendy shops and even more fashionable places such as Forte dei Marmi frequented by VIPs The sea near Legoli also has a special attraction called the White Beaches: The only beach with white sand and light blue sea in Italy. Unfortunately, the cause of this is the soda factory that would advise against swimming even if many dive in. But the view is from Caribbean beaches. Pisa 50 km from Legoli UNESCO World Heritage Site (45-minute drive from Legoli). Universally known attraction: the leaning tower - one of the seven wonders of modern times. If you have some time for a short visit, go to Pisa and visit: Piazza di Miracoli (location of the cathedral) and in particular the old monumental cemetery (Camposanto), visit the Sinopie Museum and the recently modernized Cathedral Opera Museum, the Museum of San Matteo (collection of wooden crosses), the banks of the river with its buildings.
