Quiet garden cabin, perfect for walkers
Quiet garden cabin, perfect for walkers
Description
Nestled in the heart of Dorset, 'The Shed at the End of the Garden' in Shroton is the perfect getaway for lovers of walking, nature and peace and quiet. A short drive from the towns of Shaftesbury and Blandford, you'll find yourself tucked right at the foot of Hambledon Hill, a historic Celtic Fort (National Trust). Hambledon Hill and neighbouring Hod Hill offer fantastic walking with panoramic views of the Dorset countryside – and the trail starts just outside the back gate! The space 'The Shed' is an annex at the end of the garden of our little terraced cottage. It's got its own private entrance and private, fenced off patio area with table and chairs for a coffee or glass of wine! You are surrounded by flowers, birds, and bees, and will have access to the little vegetable garden. There is a little kitchen with a hob, fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster, and a shower room. The main room has a double bed, comfy sofa (that can become a sofa bed) and fold-a-way table and chairs. There is WIFI but in true rural style it's not very strong and is therefore not very reliable - fine for the basics but not for streaming etc. There is phone signal with most networks. There is no TV. This gives it the feel of a true escape - and lots of books and games are provided. This is a great space for people to use as a peaceful base for exploring the surrounding area. Guest access Guests have separate access to the annex through the back of the garden, and have a separate patio area. We offer lockbox check-in. Other things to note We do have two dogs - Archie and Digby - who are extremely friendly. They are not allowed in the annex area and are kept in the cottage garden, but they will poke their faces through the fence to say hello! There is on-road parking available at the end of the path to shed.
