Lothmore Lookout - Sunrise

Lothmore Lookout offers comfortable modern rooms in an eco-friendly space with breathtaking coastal views! Located on the NC500 route, this property will provide all you need, whether you plan a short or long stay. It is an ideal base to explore the North-Eastern Highlands, known for its rugged landscapes, abundant wildlife and pristine beaches. Even catch the Aurora if conditions permit! It's a perfect stop when travelling between Inverness and John o' Groats. The space The space is well equipped for short or long stays, having a small kitchen complete with a sink, a 2-ring electric hob, a fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle, and all pots, pans and utensils. Basic tea and coffee are also provided. There is a comfy double bed and a large sofa that can open out to another double bed, if required. A dining table and chairs, an en-suite shower room, with towels provided. A wood burning stove is the only heating source. It's generally only needed during the winter season and will keep you toasty on even the coldest of nights. Free unlimited Starlink Wi-Fi is available with speeds up to 300 MB/S. Ideal for those needing internet access for work while away. There are also a couple of outside seating areas with a fire pit to enjoy the views on a nice evening! A few things that are not provided are an oven/microwave in the kitchen, shampoo/shower gel for the shower and there is no TV. Please note there are two rooms on site, each private but adjacent to one another. They are part of a converted garage and have been finished to a high standard. The total floor space is 6m x 4m (24msq). Each room sleeps 2. For groups of 3 or 4, you will need to book both rooms. This is under another listing, simply search: Lothmore Lookout - Sunset. The southern aspect of the property means you can view the sunrise 9 months of the year (Aug - May) and the sunset 4 months of the year (Nov - Feb) The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) can be seen from the property. During an amber or red alert, it can be seen directly above the property; if it's a yellow alert then a 10 minute drive is needed up the hills behind for an uninterrupted view. The best viewing times are winter months when it's dark earlier and for longer. An information booklet is provided detailing local sights, walks and eating options. Guest access There is parking for one car per room. Any additional vehicles will have to park in the lay-by opposite the entrance. The property has deer fencing as they are not friendly to young fruit trees, therefore the gate will be closed in the evenings and at times in the day if I'm in the garden with my dog. You are also welcome to walk down into the gardens, this is also the best way down to access the walk to the beach. Other things to note I have a dog who can bark, but is very friendly and likes to greet the guests. All wood and fire lighters are provided for using the wood burner and fire pit.
