Head upriver toward Prospect and you're in waterfall country — Mill Creek Falls, Barr Creek Falls, Natural Bridge, and National Creek Falls are all easy hikes on the way to Crater Lake National Park, about an hour from your door. Wine lovers are in the heart of the Rogue Valley region, with tasting rooms scattered through Sam's Valley, the Applegate Valley, Medford, and Ashland. Save an evening for Ashland (~50 min) for the food scene and world-class theater at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Oregon Cabaret.
