Mornings: coffee on the deck. Nights: stargazing from the hot tub. The space OUTDOORS — A full fenced and gated acre of lush lawn, all yours. Soak in the private hot tub under the stars — it's open year-round and the night sky out here will stop you in your tracks. String lights stretch across the yard, and the big back deck has an outdoor dining table and a cozy sectional. BBQ and yard games round it out. INDOORS — The home is spacious and recently updated, with a split floor plan that gives guests real privacy. Come winter, the pellet stove turns the living room into the coziest spot in the Rogue Valley — picture a soak in the hot tub under cold, starry skies, then warming up by the fire with a glass of local wine. The primary suite is the showpiece: king bed, oversized walk-in closet, and an incredible walk-in tile shower with rainfall and body-spray heads. The second bedroom has a queen bed and its own private bath. Both bedrooms have dedicated workspaces, and wifi is verified fast (150+ Mbps) — remote work actually works here. KITCHEN — Large, fully stocked kitchen with induction cooktop, new appliances, and a Nespresso machine for slow mornings on the deck while the birds do their thing. THE AREA — Shady Cove is Southern Oregon's basecamp. Raft the Rogue with outfitters right in town (gentle Class 1–2 floats, perfect for a first float), or fish some of the West's best water — Spring Chinook, Summer Steelhead, and Fall Chinook runs draw anglers from everywhere. Lost Creek Lake is 10 minutes up the road, Table Rocks hikes ~25 minutes, Medford ~30 minutes. Head upriver toward Prospect and you're in waterfall country: Mill Creek Falls, Barr Creek Falls, Natural Bridge, and National Creek Falls are all easy, rewarding hikes on the way to Crater Lake National Park — about an hour from your door and a spectacular day trip in any season. Wine lovers, you're in the heart of the Rogue Valley wine region. Dozens of tasting rooms are scattered through Sam's Valley, the Applegate Valley, Medford, and Ashland — make an afternoon of it. And save an evening for Ashland (~50 minutes): a fantastic food scene plus world-class live theater at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Oregon Cabaret. BRING THE BOAT — Anglers and rafters: park your drift boat, raft, or trailer inside our locked gate at no charge. With the Rogue's Spring Chinook, Summer Steelhead, and Fall Chinook runs minutes away and the hatchery-to-Shady Cove float right up the road, this is a true fishing basecamp — come back, clean up in the rainfall shower, and swap stories under the stars. Guest access You'll have the entire home and the full fenced acre to yourselves, including the hot tub, deck, and yard. Self check-in via smartlock — arrive on your schedule. Free parking on the premises inside the gate, with plenty of room for a drift boat, raft, or trailer. Laundry: a washer and dryer are available upon request — just send us a message and we'll provide the access code. A few locked outbuildings on the property are not part of the rental. Other things to note • The property sits just up from the Rogue River on a quiet dead-end road — peaceful and private, though not directly on the riverbank. • Sleeping: king bed, queen bed, plus a couch and air mattress in the living room for the 5th and 6th guests. • Hot tub is open year-round, 24 hours. Please shower before use and keep the cover on when you're done. • Traveling with a drift boat, raft, or trailer? There's ample parking inside the locked gate — just let us know what you're bringing so we can point you to the best spot. • Exterior security cameras face the driveway/entry for property security. None face guest areas like the hot tub or backyard gathering spaces. • This is a rural setting — expect birdsong, deer sightings, and dark starry skies rather than streetlights.
