The Ager cottage is located on an island in the Chetek Chain of Lakes. 1 bedroom with QUEEN bed, kitchen, futon, garage, dock. Causeway to the island. Nearby beach, airport, dog park, 2 miles to downtown Chetek. Boating, fishing, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling. Secluded cabin, easily sleeps 4 guests. Wildlife viewing. Bald eagles, deer, otters, heron, wood ducks, muskrat, rabbits, turtles, frogs. Three kayaks, a Grumman canoe and three bicycles (one is a tandem) are available for guests. This one-bedroom split-level cottage on the bayou was built in 1951 and was my late dad's man cave for the past 30 years. We've updated the kitchen and bathroom and furnished it in the kind of cozy, comfortable hodgepodge you often see in summer cottages on this chain of lakes. We hope you find it as peaceful and fun there as my family has! NEW: Washer/dryer in the cottage! NEW: Ring doorbell at entrance for security and communication. The house, garage, driveway, fire pit, grill, yard, and the L-shaped dock directly in front of the cottage are yours to use. We do keep two rooms of the garage padlocked. The house has two families with children living on either side, within view, but not very close. The neighborhood is quiet, except for the birds, frogs, and occasional boats and snowmobiles, so your calm *quiet* presence will be appreciated. We have encouraged our neighbors to let us know if our guests' activities, noise, or pets disturb them, so please do your best to be considerate neighbors. An easy 2 mile bike ride on a scenic drive to downtown Chetek; 1 mile to the public beach and the dog park. Light plane municipal airport is an easy 1/2 mile stroll from the cottage, as is the Hydroflites arena and Baptist grounds camp. The cabin is on an island with paved roads very good for bicycling. We are pet friendly, but with rules. 1. Dogs must be kept on leash outside the cottage or kennel. That's township law, and it's enforced. 2. Pets may not be left unattended inside the cabin. You may leave Fido in a crate (you provide), or in the covered outdoor 4x8 foot kennel (we provide - see photos). If you bring a boat, there are two boat landings close by. Boats can be tied up at the dock by the cabin. The dock isn't covered, so you'll need to make sure rainwater won't sink it!
