A considered and gorgeously restored local school from c1887 that now functions as a quaint but charming farm stay locked in the heart of the Lockyer Valley. Only one hours drive from Brisbane, Summerholm House is the perfect escape for couples, small groups and families who want to experience a smaller scale farm stay with a touch of luxury. With ample outdoor space and a gorgeous, luxurious interior complete with indoor fireplace, Summerholm House invites you to stay, slow down and relax. The space The cottage offers 2 generous sized Queen bedrooms and a third sleepout room with a standard single bed, and a second single trundle bed. There is a single bathroom with shower over the tub and closed off toilet. Washer and dryer are available for guests to use. All rooms throughout are installed with split system air conditioning. The two Queen bedrooms and living room also have ceiling fans. Inside the main living area you'll find an indoor dining table, couch, armchair and smart TV and original wood burner fireplace to warm up during the cooler months. Board games, DVDs and toddler toys are provided. If travelling with children we have plastic dinnerware/cutlery, high chair, raised toddler stools, bath toys and Baby Bjorn travel cot available on request. Guest access Access to the property is via self check-in with a lockbox. Guests are able to enjoy the privacy of the entire farm to themselves and roam about the various paddocks with ease. There are several paddocks on the property, which are each sectioned off with fencing and gates. Please note there is a dam which is situated behind a fenced off area, however guests with children are advised to monitor access at all times. Other things to note Guests are welcomed to use the space at their leisure and enjoy both the indoor and outdoor comfort of the farm. Whilst slightly remote in location, access to supermarkets, petrol stations, butchers, bottle shops, several fast food chains etc is only a 5 minute drive away. The local pub also offers delivery to the cottage should you wish to stay put! There are plenty of local amenities within easy distance of the cottage and wonderful areas to explore throughout the Lockyer Valley region. Prior to booking please ensure you note the below; * Due to the free range chickens we are unfortunately not pet friendly * There is a Telstra booster installed in the cottage, however phone access via other networks can at times be patchy * Our rates are not dependent on guest numbers. Our rate is for the entire property and all rooms are accessible once booked * Wifi is available however the signal can be lost if not in close proximity to the cottage. There is a strong signal inside and around the cottage making it perfect should you wish to work remotely.
