A charming little “Old meets New”cottage in the heart of Port Sydney, Muskoka. less than 5 min walk away from Mary Lake where you can enjoy the beach, have a picnic or even Launch your Water vessels into the lake for a relaxing day. Across the beach you can find a community centre with a play ground and basket ball court perfect for our younger guests. 2 km away from North granite ridge Golf Club; Our area is surrounded by preserved woodlands perfect for scenic hikes and spotting wildlife! ✨ The space The Rock Lodge is a four season partially private cottage, in the centre of all the wonders you can find in the beautiful town of Port Sydney. While in just a few steps you can become part of a bustling scene at Mary Lake, you can also just retrieve into the cottage which sits on a slight elevation With beautiful boulders on one side and mature trees wrapping all of the back and the other side, for a private and restful stay. The mature growth around the cottage attracts and allows for some uninterrupted and unique sightings of deers throughout different seasons. You can find a perfect mix of antique and modern aesthetics in the interior of The Rock Lodge. We have kept the house minimal but equally vibrant to compliment the nature that surrounds the cottage. You will find thoughtful and personal touches all over the cottage for our guests to truly feel welcome. So whether you are coming to immerse yourself into the Muskoka experience or simply just want to turn off and relax, The Rock Lodge does a great job at facilitating the best experience for our guests! Note: Bugs do increase in the summer, please come equipped with repellent. We do not drink drink due to our beliefs so there will be no wine glasses or circled screw openers found at the cottage as we do not facilitate it too. Other things to note Our entire property is under surveillance outdoors (no cameras indoors or facing indoors), which can allow for a more safer and secure experience for our guests. The front door has a smart lock allowing for a hassle free entry and exit from the cottage. * Firewood is NOT provided by us and needs to be purchased by the guest along with the amenities related to it such as lighters, starters if they decide to use the fire pit 😃 * NOTE FOR WINTER RESERVATIONS: FIRE PIT AND OUTDOOR TABLE WILL BE INACCESSIBLE ONCE THE SNOW BEGINS DUE TO SAFETY REASONS UNTIL SPRING 2024 We have a snow cleaning company that does the driveway, NOTE ACCORDING to ONTARIO and the policy followed by OUR SNOW REMOVAL COMPANY THAT ASSISTS US ON OUR DRIVEWAY: “Residential streets are plowed when the accumulation from a snowfall event exceeds 10 centimetres (4 inches), once main routes have been cleared.” If 4 inches of snow has not accumulated the driveway can NOT be plowed, sanded or Salted as that amount of snow helps build traction for your safety, ploughing it again will make it like a skating rink - extremely slippery which is hazardous. Please note that it snows a lot more in Muskoka due to its altitude and geographic location and may seem a-lot more than that one sees in the city. Driveways are not made of the same material as roads in our case and most cases and hence the same method as one uses to clean a road does not apply. Guests will have to shovel the staircases while they are staying there as the company only comes when a certain amount of snow has collected and focuses mainly on the driveway. We do provide shovelled staircases during checkin. SHOVEL is provided. Only 4 bath towels will be provided during the stay. Any additional need of towels are the responsibilities of the guest. 4 guests is our maximum. A child under 5 can be a 5th guest at no additional cost. but we do not provide extra sleeping facilities and that needs to be arranged by the guests. Anyone above age 5 is considered an extra guest and hence an extra charge of 75-100$ a night will be charged depending on time of year due to the additional strain on utility costs such as septic. MEDICAL ANIMAL ALLERGIES EXPERIENCED, please let us know before booking if you are intending to bring a service animal or pet. We DO NOT DECK/DECORATE our house for the holidays (Christmas etc) for various reasons, if you are looking for a decorated place for personal reasons we are happy to accommodate your decorator if you wish to hire one. Please just let us know prior so we can ensure safety and upkeep of the property and your satisfaction. Notes: - Water is drinkable - The bins are located in a pull drawer closest to front of the house entrance - The thermostat is found near the television where you can go to heating or cooling mode and set the temperature to your liking - Netflix is already set up on the television, if you would like to login to your account and logout of ours please let us know in advance so we can log back in
