Welcome to Meix-Gagnard, the charming bed & breakfast near the village of Mervans, in the heart of southern Burgundy. The authentic, former farmhouse is an oasis in the countryside and offers a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our special B&B with a distinctive French charm combines the elegance of the old world with modern comfort. Rustically furnished rooms await you when you return from your adventures. This is the perfect place to relax. The space Our guest house has its own style. The whole house is flexible and suitable for individuals up to groups of 13 to 15 people. The large garden and pool invite you to spend cozy hours outdoors. A casual encounter between other guests and the hosts promises a cozy stay. You will be staying in our characterful "guesthouse". Marianne and René, your hosts, take care of everything to make your stay a distinctive experience. Each of our beautifully rustic rooms has a tasteful farmhouse-style decor. The windows in the bedrooms are equipped with mosquito nets – this allows summer nights without uninvited visitors. Soft linens, fresh towels and some modern amenities complete the offer you need for a truly relaxing stay. The large garden invites you to play, stroll, the petanque track is competition size. After a refreshing shower, cool off in the saltwater pool. Please note: this house consists of two parts, both of which are under the same roof. Connected via the entrances to the terrace, which connects both parts. The "Les Huit" part with its 4 rooms and one kitchen, and the "Les Mervandiaux" part with the apartment for 5 people and the other kitchen. So you have two kitchens. In winter, most guests meet in the "Les Huit" for dinner. You can put the table from "Les Mervandiaux" there. There is room for everyone on the terrace. There is a table for 10 people and a table for 5 people. Please: do not overcrowd! The fire department is also looking for every person/guest..... Thank you!!! Guest access You can park right next to the house (about 50 m away from the small access road). You can enter the house through various doors, including our large terrace with ramp. Outside on the grounds you have almost 6000 m² of garden to freely unfold. There are tables to place under trees, plus a 500 m mowed path to walk around the natural meadow, an old oak beam to sit and dream. You can use the saltwater pool and the petanque all day long. We owners will withdraw. Other things to note The Meix-Gagnard is conveniently located (A39/A6, its own SNCF train station) and offers easy access to some of the most valuable sights and activities of Burgundy and Jura-Westfuss. Explore local vineyards, visit historic châteaux, enjoy a bike tour and hikes on the many scenic paths that crisscross the countryside. It is especially nice to explore the area by motorcycle in low-traffic Burgundy. Many streets with an amazing number of curves invite you to poke around. But beware - around some curves the hissing turns into screeching... When you return from your adventures, our lush garden with a pool offers the perfect place to relax. Enjoy the shade under our centuries-old trees, relax in the summer sun with a glass of Burgundy wine from the region or play a round of pétanque/boule with your friends on our in-house court. Please treat our house better than your own home. Use the wooden tables/chairs only on the terrace. Leave the other furniture and blankets in the house. Shower before swimming in the pool with our outdoor shower and let your sweat and sunscreen flow into the shaft. If you have a different idea, please talk to us first. Depending on the weather, a lot is possible. If you want to invite friends to celebrate or camp on our property, you must discuss this with us. We charge an additional €15 per visitor and an additional €30 per person who stays overnight (in a tent, in a car or on the sofa) to cover our costs.
