The perfect Canadian staycation spot! Reconnect with nature in this unique and tranquil cabin in the forest. Songwood Studio is located in the heart of our private FSC-certified property near Limerick Forest. Ideal for those looking for a quiet weekend getaway surrounded by trees, trails and nature. Hand-pumped water supply only. Composting toilet. New outdoor, propane-heated shower (seasonal). Cozy propane fireplace. Access to private trails for hiking, skiing and forest therapy. The space The 16 x 20 ft. cabin is walk in, self check-in, with electricity. Kitchen area has sink and hand-pumped water supply, microwave, toaster, mini-fridge and propane range and oven. All the tools for making and serving your favourite food. The living area has a propane fireplace, fold-out sleeper couch, writing desk and dining table. Windows on every side provide views of surrounding forest. The sleeping loft has a very comfortable queen-size bed. Water for drinking, washing and cooking is supplied via three 5-gallon water jugs with hand pump. Separate bathroom with composting toilet. During the warm months (May - Thanksgiving) there's an outdoor shower - with hot running rainwater heated with propane. Electricity is supplied by our 8.9KW MicroFIT solar panels. The cabin is finished inside and out with locally-milled eastern white pine, which smells fantastic. The red pines outside the cabin door also provide the aromatic fragrance that many people find difficult to describe but unforgettable — almost magical. Come and see for yourself. Guest access Songwood Studio is a cabin in the forest, 300 feet from our home. You'll be parking in a dedicated spot in our driveway; a wagon is provided to transport your things to and from your car. Guests have private, secure access to the entire cabin. Trails are only shared with wildlife; you may see tracks and/or hear signs of deer, grouse, pileated woodpecker, fox, coyote, owl, wild turkey and more. Pets are not permitted (excluding service animals). Other things to note Anytime is a beautiful time for a getaway in the woods. Guests have called their time at Songwood 'magical', 'peaceful', 'cozy', 'comfortable' and an 'amazing experience'! There is no Wi-fi available in the cabin. This is a great opportunity to get away from it. There are books, games, cards and other things to while away the time. Two pairs of brand new snowshoes have been added to help you enjoy our trails. No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property. Pets are not permitted (excluding service animals).
