Nestled into the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, Windsor is a small town with deep roots in farming and, more recently, winemaking. Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve Nestled in the heart of the Russian River Valley, this 240 acre redwood grove offers both peaceful and serene walking and hiking trails throughout the reserve. The Parson Jones tree is the tallest at 310 feet and the Colonel Armstrong tree is the oldest at 1400 years old. Historical information is available at the visitor center with ample picnicking available amongst these majestic giants. Horseback riding is available through the Armstrong Woods Pack Station.
