Gemma's Cabin

Gemma's cabin is located just behind the dunes, on the edge of the village of Egmond Binnen. If you are looking for a cozy place to relax by the crackling fire or a summer cottage close to the beach, Gemma's cabin is for you. With great attention to atmosphere and equipped with all modern conveniences. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do :) The space Gemma's cabin is located just behind the dunes, on the edge of the village of Egmond Binnen. The cabin was recently built and is equipped with all modern conveniences. Electricity is generated with solar panels on the roof, there is underfloor heating and a cozy wood stove. Winter or summer, here you will completely relax, with a good book and a nice glass of wine or hot chocolate :) LAYOUT HOUSE The house is spacious (55 m2) with a bright and cozy living room and fully equipped kitchen. The main space gives access to a double bedroom (180x200 bed) and the bathroom with shower and toilet. The stairs lead to a second double bedroom (160-200 bed or 2x 80x200 if pushed apart). The upstairs bedroom has a sloping roof and is only 160 cm high at its highest point, so not everyone can stand up straight here. Due to the space the house is suitable to host 2 adults and 2 children (and not more than two adults). French doors in the living room open to the garden. GARDEN The garden is enclosed with a hedge and therefore feels cozy. In the spring and summer it is a beautiful sight with the various plants and flowers that bloom there. There is a dining area with a table and four chairs. In addition, there are adjustable garden chairs with cushions and a parasol. There is a Green Egg XL BBQ, which can of course be used (please bring your own charcoal). FACILITIES This house is equipped with all conveniences and modern comfort. With underfloor heating (adjustable per room) and the various available appliances you will lack nothing here. The kitchen is fully equipped (refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, etc.) and coffee/ thee and spices for cooking. A washing machine is located in the bathroom. A large flat screen TV is concealed (no cable TV, TV can be connected to DVD player or to your laptop) in the cupboard above the kitchen. Please note there are no channels on the TV, so it needs to be hooked up to a laptop or the DVD player. There is a music installation with a cable for connecting a smartphone. Moreover, there are family games and a collection of books (NL). A side note is that there is currently no WiFi network. You can use your mobile phone network, or read a nice book :). The use of linen (bed linen, towels and tea towels) is included in the cabin. Guest access Gemma's cabin is located on a small-scale holiday home site (30 cabins, no facilities on site). All cabins are secluded by gardens and are very private. The site is located at the end of a quiet dead end street, about 400 meters from the main road. Free parking on the parking lot of the site. Other things to note THE VILLAGE OF EGMOND BINNEN The cabin is located against the picturesque village of Egmond Binnen. There is a supermarket, bakery, snack bar and delicious Italian ice cream shop. You can also visit the St. Adelbertus abbey, where real monks still live and where you can visit the butterfly garden and the shop where tasty cheese, beer and handmade soap and candles are sold. AREA There is plenty to do in the area. A walking path leads directly into the dunes from the parking lot of the site. The beach of Egmond Binnen can only be reached by bike (12 min) or on foot (35 min). You can drive to Egmond aan Zee (the shore) in 8 minutes by car (or 15 minutes by bike), where there are many nice beach bars and a shopping street with small boutiques. Of course you can also go here for a tasty portion of fish. The nearby city of Alkmaar is a nice outing for a day of culture or shopping. The artists' village of Bergen is also worth a visit. In the dunes you can walk beautifully and see the Scottish highland cattle and wild horses that graze there. In the dunes you need a dune card, which you can buy at the vending machines that are located at all dune entrances. HOUSE RULES We use and maintain Gemma’s cabin with much effort and love. The cabin is neatly furnished with sustainable furniture and materials. The cabin is available for a maximum of 2 adults and two children and is not rented for (stag or hen) parties. Smoking and pets are not allowed in the cabin. The house is situated on a terrain that is collectively owned by the house owners. This means we have a close community and we respect each other and the rules of the terrain. Rules of the terrain: - Dispose of your garbabe in the correct bin (multiple bins on the parking lot) - Keep the level of noise down. If you want to turn the music on, please close doors and windows. - Quiet hours are between 9.00h and 22.00h. - No hosting of parties (of course inviting few friends for dinner is completely fine) Make yourself at home; relax with your feet on the couch (but please without shoes); enjoy a drink in the garden (but after 10 p.m. please be quiet on the grounds because of the neighbours).
