This is our personal home we use when lucky enough to be in the area. Our daughter married a sweet young man from here & we fell in love with this beautiful, friendly community and its adorable waterfront and downtown areas. We designed everything about this cottage to be exactly what we want & need, & we hope you appreciate all our thoughtful touches. Relax at this peaceful place to stay & enjoy Newburgh! Our location is also a great base for exploring Evansville, Owensboro, & Henderson. Indulge in our exquisite and newly renovated 2-bedroom, 1-bath haven, nestled in the captivating small town of Newburgh, Indiana. Discover this peaceful retreat just a leisurely walk from the river and a short jaunt from the historic downtown – an ideal fusion of modern comfort and prime location, with easy access to the bigger city and activities of Evansville. It's also a relatively quick trip across the river to Owensboro and Henderson, Kentucky. Step inside, where an inviting interior embraces you with its cozy charm, a perfect respite after a day of exploration or activities. Although it is an older home (built in 1957), we have updated almost everything, including new appliances. Our well-appointed kitchen, though petite, boasts a gas stove to fulfill your culinary desires. We added an icemaker to the stainless refrigerator but also provide traditional ice trays if you prefer those (or use a lot of ice!). Outdoor cooking enthusiasts will relish the gas grill, while the outdoor seating area sets the scene for al fresco dining (please let us know in advance if you plan to eat outside, as we store the new dining furniture in the garage). Gather around the gas firepit for cherished moments beneath the stars ... and, if you're like us, to make lots of s'mores! Embrace friendly competition with our cornhole set, promising laughter-filled hours. Families are warmly welcomed, as evidenced by our child-friendly dinnerware and convenient highchair – ensuring a pleasant dining experience for even our youngest guests. Seamless connectivity is at your fingertips with our lightning-fast WiFi for smooth communication, streaming, and remote work. Don’t just take our word for it; we've included an image to demonstrate the speed. Please note and respect our strict policy of no pets, ensuring a comfortable environment for all guests. We do have a fairly long, paved single-car driveway, but we have gravel parking to the left of it should you need more space. Please be mindful of backing onto Frame Road, especially as the stormwater ditches can be tricky to navigate. Discover serenity in our tranquil abode, conveniently situated across from a well-established church and near an awesome walking/biking trail that can take you to the riverside and to the downtown area. Two restaurants are within very close distance, and we consider many to be walkable if you enjoy a bit of a stroll to work off your calories! For those seeking a brush with history, the historic downtown area awaits with its boutiques, cafes, and undeniable allure. And before you set out on your culinary adventures, be sure to check out our curated list of restaurant recommendations for an unforgettable dining experience. Your idyllic retreat commences at our doorstep – secure your reservation now for a vacation brimming with repose, convenience, and timeless memories. After all, we adore spending time here, and we’re certain you will, too. The fine print: the garage, one closet, and one cabinet are locked off from guests and are not included in the rental. We do have one twin trundle in Bedroom #1 that is designed to hold a child; please let us know if you'll plan to use it so we can have it ready. We provide more than a sufficient number of towels and washcloths in the bedrooms and bathrooms; if you need to refresh those, then please use the washer/dryer but be mindful not to set any stains. (Specially marked makeup washcloths are provided.) Clean rags, should you need them for something, are provided in the bin to the right of the washing machine. Although this is a self-catering property, you should find starter amounts of coffee, creamer, sweetener, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, dishwashing and laundry detergent, and shampoo. We also provide some oft-forgotten items should you need them during your stay. Dollar General is extremely close, and Wal-Mart and other stores are just a short drive away. For your safety and the safety of the property, we do have cameras recording audio and visuals around the exterior. There are smoke/CO detectors and also water sensors in the house (behind the toilet and near the sinks), so please do not move or disturb those. Pictures are of the actual listing but specific decorations/amenities may change with the season or as needed to replace/repair/update/maintain the property. We have dedicated a lot of time, effort, and money to make our house a pleasant place to visit. Please treat this property and its belongings well so the next guest can enjoy it and so we can happily continue to share access to our little piece of paradise. Thank you! The garage is currently NOT included as part of the rental. We do have an outdoor dining set, but we keep it in the garage until we can get our patio concrete poured. IF you want to use the dining set, then please notify us in advance and we will try to make it available. We want to help you have an enjoyable visit - just message us through the app with any questions or concerns. We would also greatly appreciate a 5-star review (that way, more people can find us and enjoy the space). If you have suggestions, then please message those to us so that we can continue to improve the experience for everyone. We love our neighbors, so please be respectful. This tends to be a quiet area, and we have found it to be quite peaceful. The church across the street also has an associated school, so please be especially mindful near church/school start and dismissal times. Newburgh is close to Evansville, Boonville, Owensboro, and Henderson and surrounding communities. There is plenty of parking at the house. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance as long as you don't mind crossing a few streets. The speed limit is fairly low in the area (it actually seems surprisingly low in places, including the end of Frame Road, so be aware!). Personally, we feel safe walking around even in parts that don't have dedicated sidewalks. The Rivertown Trail is a VERY short drive (with parking) or a short walk (crossing two streets), and that trail is nice/safe to enjoy with kids, bikes, etc. Just a quick reminder that this is an older and smaller home. While we feel like we offer all the major modern conveniences, it is a small (but comfortable!) space. Also please note: the water heater works great, but it does sometimes make a little noise when it is heating back up!
