The Boathouse Stone Cottage

A delightful two-bedroom detached cottage with free parking for up to two cars. Located next to our working boathouse in the middle of Stratford-upon-Avon, with a charming outlook over the lawn to the river. A five minute walk over the footbridge to the theatre and the centre of town. Secluded private sunny patio with outdoor table and chairs, plus the riverbank to yourself in the evening. Free boat hire or river cruise for guests (April to October). Newly refurbished by professional host. The space The cottage is a listed detached two-story stone building. The ground floor contains a kitchen, a cosy lounge with wood-burning stove for the winter, a dining room, and a newly fitted shower room. Upstairs the cottage has two double rooms with king-size beds and a wash-basin in each room. The kitchen door opens onto a private enclosed patio with wooden table and chairs and a parasol for relaxing and outdoor dining. Guest access Guests have the sole private use of the house during their stay. They will also have the freedom to use the boathouse lawn outside the cottage in the evenings to enjoy the riverbank setting. Other things to note The cottage sits next to the side of our boathouse. The boathouse can be busy in the summer hiring small boats to the public and operating river cruises. While this is part of the attraction of the location, there may on occasions be murmurings from the public in the vicinity waiting for boats on the lawn and using the shepherds hut cafe when open. In the evening, after the boat-hire stops the area is quiet and peaceful. In the winter the boat hire is closed from November to mid-March. Note that there is also a first class restaurant on the first floor of the boathouse open all year round.
