The space Vineyard Ridge Farmhouse has been in our family for over 60 years and was my husband’s childhood home. Located on the same property where we now live, it offers a cozy and inviting space for your stay. You’ll enter the farmhouse from the back deck off the driveway, which is spacious enough to fit multiple cars or trailered vehicles. On your way in, you’ll notice the fire pit area, a great spot to unwind. As you enter the house, you’ll use the keypad entry and step into a large mud/laundry room, complete with a washer and dryer—a perfect place to kick off your shoes and hang up your jacket. To the left, there is a beautiful new bathroom with a large soaker tub, an ideal place to relax and unwind after a day of travel or work. From there, you’ll move into the fully furnished kitchen, equipped with everything you need to prepare your favorite meals. A large island with four barstools offers extra storage underneath. While cooking or enjoying your meals, you’ll be treated to stunning sunsets over the St. James Winery vineyard, visible from the kitchen window. Off the kitchen, there is another full bathroom and a bedroom with a king-size bed and closet. All bedrooms feature ceiling fans to keep you cool and comfortable during your stay. Walk back down a small hall into a spacious dining room with a farmhouse table that seats eight. A desk and chair are available if you need to take care of any business. There’s also a bedroom off the dining room with a full-size bed and a small closet. On the other side of the dining room is a large living room with an oversized chair, ottoman, cozy couch, and a loveseat—perfect for cuddling up and enjoying your favorite streaming services or DVDs on the 42-inch smart television, sitting on the mantel of the faux fireplace. You’ll also find games in the buffet table against the back living room wall. To the left of the living room is a large bedroom with two full beds. All windows throughout the house are covered with light-filtering blinds and long white curtains, providing natural light while maintaining privacy. Off the end of the living room, a large sliding door opens to the deck, which faces I-44. There are two famous Cracker Barrel rockers on the deck, ideal for relaxing and watching the cars travel down the highway. Throughout the house, you’ll find fuzzy blankets, chargers, coloring pages, and games to play. We’ve recently updated our WiFi (as of 8/16/24), so you’ll enjoy much faster speeds during your stay.
