At Casa Colibri, guests have the opportunity to spread out and relax on a beautiful beach front property along a cascading stream. Just steps away from Punta Banco's incredible beach and main surf break, and 10 minutes from the world-famous surf in Pavones, the house offers comfort and adventure within a safe and quiet village at the end of the road. This expansive open air home (w/ fans and screens throughout) includes three spacious bedrooms, each with a full bath, a large upper porch, full kitchen, work space, living area, and separate "mother-in-law" apartment (extra fee). Guests will have access to the entire home minus the separate downstairs apartment (studio style with small kitchen and full bath) unless specifically requested. We are happy to add the apartment to your rental should you need the extra space (sleeps three with a queen bed and a twin trundle bed) for an additional fee. The owners of the home live in the United States but are easy to reach through Air BNB. Your on site host will be our property manager and Punta Banco local, Wilmer Vargas. Wilmer lives close by, speaks Spanish and English, and will be available to assist with any needs you may have during your stay. Additionally, Wilmer is a surf coach for hire and can connect guests or arrange for them any number of other services such as horseback riding trips, hiking excursions, fishing charters, yoga instruction, ATV rentals, airport/Golfito shuttles, Cabo Matapalo/Osa Peninsula boat transport, etc. If you're looking for an unforgettable vacation with a mix of beach activities, wildlife, and local culture, Casa Colibri in Punta Banco will not disappoint. Located a few miles from Pavones (home of the the second longest left point-break in the world), this peaceful, tiny village with only 200 residents is nothing short of a magical enclave at the end of the road. Bring a group and enjoy beach front access, year-round surfing, epic sunsets, horse-back riding, snorkeling, tide pools, and incredible wildlife viewing and nature exploration. Four-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended if you plan on renting a car and driving in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica (including our area as well as the on the Osa Peninsula). Casa Colibri is in a rural part of Coast Rica where dirt roads are the rule and road conditions can be rough at times. Some of the bridge crossings lack guard rails and while they are all stable, the experience can be unnerving for some. Guests can also arrive by taxi/shuttle from the Golfito airport (domestic flights fly in multiple times daily from San Jose) and also by bus from San Jose. In country visitors, can use Costa Rica's exceptional bus system to arrive just a few hundred feet from the doorstep. Once here, there are ATV rentals in Pavones that can be arranged as well as bike rentals and also taxi service. The home is located directly across the street from the beach (the beach in Punta Banco has almost no development ocean front). The house is also adjacent to a cascading freshwater stream, perfect for rinsing off after a surf or cooling off on a hot afternoon.
