Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place. House is over 100 years old,but updated to modern conveniences. Quirkie and fun. Fell in love with it, wanted to retain the history of the place.You feel at home the moment you walk in. Please make yourself at home! The space This is one of the oldest in Duncan Ok was plotted in 1906 The Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes signed to the City of Duncan plotted land for homes to be built. according to the abstract L.E Bumpas purchased many lots in the area. The first ( premise) was sold in 1914. LE Bumpas was the gentleman that brought electricity to Duncan. Duncan had been a stop on the Chisholm Trail ( if you have time,be sure and check out the wonderful Museum about the Trail). The house was originally a four room, small house. Br,Kit,LR and Dinning area. At some point Two rooms were added Bathroom, two Bedrooms. At that time most had outdoor facilities. The Bedroom in Back is a tandem, closets were not put in bedrooms at the time of being built, The bathroom was taken from the kitchen, and the Utility was a dinette area. The house is Board and batten with plaster. I have tried to retain the awesomeness of this place while adding today's amenities. Left Tall ceilings,original moldings, cabinets, Fireplace.I knock out the wall between kitchen and formal dinning room. This was never a grand home but the home of average people of the day It is still a work in progress, and remains a much loved project. It is in the original neighborhood of old Duncan and in a quite safe neighborhood and while not one of our old great homes it is still a beautiful home Guest access while staying with us,you have full use of amenities. Feel free to use the grill patio area as well of washer and dryer. Other things to note the drive will accommodate a good size horse trailer,boat if needed. the beds are Queen size
