Newly built and stylishly decorated; with an open concept living area and a dedicated work station. Lounge on our deep couch in front of a 75” smart tv + free wifi; or make a meal in our fully equipped kitchen that offers a cocktail making kit and an assortment of coffee/tea pods. We are a short walk from Old Town Auburn, with quick access to the freeway. The space Dean's Garage is a detached building that shares the urban lot with the owner's house. Ideal for one or two guests. It has its own gated space with a level concrete patio covered by a shade sail and cozy string lights; and steps up to a landscaped petite side yard. The house is 540 sq ft, with a separate one bedroom (queen-sized bed, Casper mattress), one bathroom (walk-in shower, Toto washlet, towel warmer), stacked laundry and a full linen closet. This little house has 7 windows, each with light blocking shades or curtains. Our theme follows Dean’s lifetime love of all things vroom and braap, and we had fun decorating: foraged and hand assembled a lot of our own wall art and some things we found on Etsy. Our Neighborhood Piled onto a small hillside during the 1800s Gold Rush period consisting of small homes on small lots, today our little corner has fast access to both Sacramento/Lake Tahoe (I-80 East or West) or Nevada City/Grass Valley (Hwy 49 North). Our oak-lined, residential street is flanked by a feed store and the old cemetery on one end and a small creek on the other. It is a generally a low-traffic neighborhood, and quiet at nights. Our neighbors mostly work in the local trades, leave early and get home mid afternoon, then like to walk their dogs in the evenings. It is a 5-minute, easy stroll to old town, which is on the other side of the freeway, but we are lacking sidewalks at some places. Guest access It is a smooth concrete path from the street's curbside through the black metal gate to the cottage's front door. There is a short 4" rise to step inside; once indoors there are no height differences, just level flooring everywhere. Our Airbnb-issued Cancellation Policy is not designed to cover last minute trip changes. Rates Our rate is $155/night. No surge pricing, no weekend or holiday price hikes, no second person per night charges. Our one time cleaning fee is $75, it covers about 3-3.5 hours of work.
