** Also see the La Casita listing. Same spot! Enjoy the sounds of nature and a 2 minute walk to the Sunzal point when you stay in this unique tiny home. A wonderful place to enjoy your coffee and meals while observing the various birds and wildlife in the tree canopy. This is an excellent surf retreat and remote working location. **perfectly livable, however some finishing are required as this is a new house. This guesthouse shares the same property as La Casita. It is located at the back of the property, and is designed to maintain it privacy with the patio and kitchen looking into canopy. The house is located in La Isla, Sunzal (not an actual island), which is a safe and friendly neighborhood nestled between the popular beach town of El Tunco and the black sand beach of Sunzal. In addition to its proximity to the popular Sunzal surf break, there are two other surf spots, La Bocana and Bocanita, which are within walking distance. Further along the coast, surf breaks at El Zonte, Punta Roca, and at KM59, can be accessed via a $0.25 bus ride or by car - all within 15 minutes. There are plenty of options nearby to rent boards or take surf lessons. The neighbourhood has local tiendas, papusarias, and other restaurants, although the nearest supermarket is in La Libertad. If you plan on cooking at home, it is best to stock up in La Libertad, although local fruit and vegetable trucks pass by the house daily. The house is close to El Tunco, a popular beach town with plenty of nice restaurants, bars, cafes, and local shops and vendors. Unlike the bustling town of El Tunco, La Isla Sunzal is typically a tranquil and quiet community with a mix of local and expat residences. However, like many neighborhoods in El Salvador, it can get more lively during the holidays. By car, La Isla Sunzal is approximately 45-60 minutes from San Salvador, 45 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from La Libertad, and 3 minutes from El Tunco. From the house, you can easily walk to El Tunco (~12-15 minutes) during low tide. However, it can be a bit of a mission at high tide and is not advisable at night. A good option is to catch a local bus to El Tunco for $0.25 or the air conditioned microbus for $1.50. You can also ask about a taxi or Uber for ~$5 , especially if you plan to be out for the night. There are also local buses running several times a day to La Libertad, San Salvador, and El Zonte. UBER: You can use uber although wait times vary, and make sure it doesn't place the pick-up location across the river at Playa Sunzal. Sometimes best to put the pick up area at Calle a La Playa Sunzal or up on the highway. You can always get the uber drivers phone number afterward for future trips, as uber often prices trips too low for local drivers. 1- NOTE! For stays longer than 1 week we ask guests for an additional 20$ per week after the first for weekly cleaning and change of sheets and towels. In addition, guests can schedule with cleaning staff but we ask the guests to allow the cleaning staff to use the whole space within that time as this facilitates proper cleaning. 2- There is NO HOT WATER, but this is not usually an issue in the heat.
