Otter's Den Sanctuary Near the New River

This peaceful property is nestled quietly out in the country with the noise of the birds and the cows might be the only things to keep you awake! The biggest night activity is watching the lightening bugs light up the sky. Oh yeah, it's a happening place! You can sit in an Adirondack chairs with your morning cup of coffee and watch the sun rise over the mountains. If you're looking for a small mountain get-a-way, then Otters Den is the place to be! The space Otters Den is a single wide trailer with one bedroom and a pull out couch for one more person or child(re) to sleep comfortable. While Otters Den is not overly large, it does offer: onsite washer/dryer, back deck with propane grill, one bathroom with shower facility, fully supplied kitchen/dining room combination (dishes, pots, pans, Keurig, toaster, coffee pot, full stove and refrigerator, microwave, silverware, grill items, etc.), and living room with comfortable furniture, t.v., games, and puzzles. Also, there is a full deck on the front with Adirondeck chairs and table for you to enjoy your morning coffee and quiet sunrises. The single bedroom offers a full size bed with t.v., ceiling fan, and closet for your clothes. Games such as corn hole and badminton are also available for your use. Wifi is available throughout the unit. There is central air and heat at Otters Den to ensure you're comfortable year round. Early spring and late summer, you may only need to raise the windows and turn on the ceiling fans for the cool mountain breeze. The choice is yours. Extra blankets are provide for your comfort. While Otters Den is stocked with everything we can think to make your stay enjoyable, you do need to make sure you bring your groceries and food items, as it is secluded in the beautiful North Carolina mountains, yet off of the main highway. The nearest major grocery stores will be in Jefferson (Food Lion), West Jefferson (Wal-Mart & Ingles)--30 to 45 minutes, or Sparta (Food Lion)--30 minutes. So, make sure you have all you need BEFORE you head to Otters Den to enjoy your relaxing stay! We are a "NO SMOKING" facility and "NO PETS" allowed due to allergies and to respect all of our guests who stay at Otters Den. We ask that you be respectful of our house rules and refrain from booking Otters Den if you need either of these in your reservation to avoid issues later. Thank you in advance!
