Welcome to the Guest House at Mosebyødegård! Charming log cabin from the 1800s in a romantic farmhouse style. Stay in a rural and peaceful location, with walking distance to Ørje city center. From the private patio you have views of the Halden Canal, and the surrounding area offers paddling, cycling and hiking. The cabin has a new bathroom and kitchen, one bedroom with a 150x200 cm bed and a 120x200 cm canopy bed in the living room. Extra 90 cm mattress available. Unique experience? Rent our floating sauna (NOK 1,500 for 2 hours, must be booked). The space The guest house is located on Mosebyødegård, an idyllic farm with a romantic atmosphere. The courtyard consists of the guest house, the main house and a barn that has been converted into a modern skin care clinic. The farm is home to free-range chickens, cats and a dog – which contribute to an authentic, rural experience. Ørje city center is only a short walk away, where you will find locks, steamboats, shops, beaches, cafes and outdoor seating. THE STORY OF THE GUESTHOUSE In this house from the 1800s once lived Mari – a quiet, diligent woman who lived a simple but meaningful life. She was known for spinning yarn, and the sound of her distaff was a steady rhythm throughout the days. Mari took care of wool from her own animals and often sat by the window, where the sunlight hit her hands while she worked. People from the village came by to shop for yarn, have a chat, or just feel the calm in her house. Today, the guest house still carries the memories of Mari. We have preserved the atmosphere and hope you notice the same warmth, silence and proximity to the simple – when you stay here! Guest access Guests will have full access to the guest house and the associated outdoor space, as well as a private parking space. The farm's jetty is private and reserved for our sauna guests. The nearest beach is about 15 minutes walk from the farm, perfect for a dip on hot days. We also offer rental of: ✅ Floating sauna (NOK 1,500 for 2 hours, must be booked in advance. Other things to note ✔ Duvets (140x200 cm) and pillows are available on all beds + extra mattress. Bed linen and towels are to be brought by yourself.
