Located on the island of Stora Essingen you can enjoy water views from every room The House was designed and built by architect and furniture designer Mattias Stenberg as a calling card for his design practice. The house is a unique blend of subtle natural materials and furniture designed by Mattias The location among the treetops offers a calm experience while still just a short hop from the city buzz of Stockholm The space The Charred House is situated over 66 sqm and two levels. The lower level holds the entrance, a bathroom with a shower and full washer/dryer, the first out of two bedrooms (one 180 cm bed) and a generous kitchen and dining area with sea views and access to the outdoor space On the upper level you will find the dedicated lounge area with soft seating and a Samsung Serif TV, if for some reason you will get sick of the sea views. Next to the lounge area you will find the second bedroom (two connected 80 cm beds to be used as a twin or two singles) The home is designed with relaxation in mind, optimizing the sea and treetop top views from every room. In this "barefoot" house materiality is king, combining bleached fir ceilings, terrazzo and waxed fir flooring, textured granite in the bathroom, integrated lighting and a custom kitchen with stainless bench and Smeg appliances, as well as separate coffee cupboard. All lighting can be controlled manually or using the "Plejd" application on your device (activation code available in the welcome info). In addition, an Ipad with the "Plejd" app will be available in the house throughout your stay. Guest access Guests will have access to the full house and outdoor area Other things to note The Charred House is reached by a stone stairway from the main road, so unfortunately we are not able to welcome guests with mobility issues/disabilities Parking is available on the street called Stenkullavägen at the top of the stairs. Parking is paid using one of the following apps; ePark, EasyPark or Parkster (enter Zone 4). Please observe that the street is closed for cleaning each Tuesday between 9:00 and 14:00.
