Other things to note As this is a houseboat permanently moored on the harbour, there are some rules that require your special attention: 1) Toilets (VERY IMPORTANT): Nothing can be flushed down the toilet except natural waste. Please DO NOT flush toilet paper or any sanitary products down the toilet (trash bins are provided in the bathrooms for this). The toilets are standard boat toilets and have very narrow pipes. Thus, blockages are not uncommon if you do not follow these basic guidelines. 2) Sampans (another unique Hong Kong experience) serve as water taxis to/from the houseboat and cost HK$10-20 per person. Please reserve small HK dollar notes to pay the sampan drivers. Sampans run from about 7am to 11pm. 3) Stable power (220V) and water provided. The houseboat has a water heater to provide hot water for showers. 4) Help yourselves to coffee and whatever is in the cupboards. There are many trendy waterfront cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby in Soho East if you would like to eat out. For local Chinese food, head to Shau Kei Wan Main Street East, a 5-min walk from the Tam Kung Temple dock. 5) The houseboat is permanently moored and cannot be moved or taken out to sea. The houseboat is used exclusively for pleasure purposes. 6) The houseboat is moored in a typhoon shelter with a sea wall. However, you may still experience slight rocking movement from the waves from time to time. Since this is a houseboat moored in a shelter pond, some rules need special attention: 1) Toilet (very important): Nothing can be thrown into the toilet except urine and urine.Please do not throw toilet paper or any toiletries in the toilet (there is a garbage bin in the bathroom).Toilets are standard marine toilets with narrow pipes.Therefore, if you do not follow these guidelines, blockage may occur. 2) Ho Chi Minh (another unique Hong Kong experience) as a water taxi to and from the houseboat for a fee of HK $10-20 per person.Please set aside the HKD change to pay the driver. It runs from 7am to 11pm. 3) The power supply (220V) and water source are stable and reliable.The houseboat has a water heater that provides hot water for the shower. 4) Feel free to use the coffee machine and what's in the cabinet.If you want to dine out, you can find many trendy beachfront cafes, restaurants and bars near Soho East.For Chinese cuisine, head to Tsuen Tsuen Wan East Street, a 5-minute walk from Tan Kung Temple Pier. 5) The houseboat is permanently berthed and cannot be moved or taken out to sea.Boat houses are used for entertainment purposes only. 6) The houseboat is anchored in a wind shelter pond with a seawall.However, you will still feel the slight sway from the waves.
