Guests will have their own private access to the attached guest suite with their own keyed entry. Guests are not permitted access to the main house, garage, or shed. There is also a giant garden on the property we ask that you please ask permission and we would be happy to show you around! As we may be busy working for most of the duration of your stay, we are more than happy to help answer any questions you may have to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible! We are most reachable on our cell phones, which we will provide our numbers for you to contact us. Nestled on 40 acres of private woodlands we are home to The Big Birch Tree here on Beaver Island, one Michigan's oldest and largest white birch. We are less than a 10 minute walk from The Big Rock and Fox Lake. Being centrally located on the island we are about a 20 minute drive from the Beaver Island Harbor Light, located on the north end of the island in St.James Harbor, and the Beaver Head Lighthouse on the southend of the island. There are lots of leisurely outdoor activities to enjoy here on the island! There are miles of walking/hiking trails, biking trails, birding trails, multiple inland lakes for kayaking, paddle boarding, or fishing, or take a scenic drive around the island and check out all of its attractions...what is commonly referred to as "Boodling" here on the island. Venture into town and check out the local shops, museums, and restaurants! We are a local husband and wife couple who live and work here on the island year round. We love our island home and the guests that visit! With the guest suite being attached to the main house we try to keep things quiet during your stay, especially in the evening hours. We ask that our guests show the same respect as we must go about our daily lives. We run a local restaurant here on the island and we would love to serve you! A note on pets... Although we ask that you don't bring your furry friends, there are two friendly dogs that live and run freely here on the property. They may come up to greet you or bark as you come down the driveway. We hope that our guests are dog lovers and don't mind our harmless "Paw Patrol".
