Casa Azul is a tropical oasis

Mahahual is a beautiful beachside town offering great snorkeling, diving & fishing. Casa Azul is newly renovated and offers spacious bedrooms, bathrooms, a large kitchen & living room & a lovely backyard with a pool and large covered patio. The house is bathed in natural light. There are ACs in each bedroom & 2 in the living spaces. There are seven ceiling fans inside and outside. The internet is high-speed Starlink, perfect for streaming or virtual meetings in a dedicated workspace. The space Our custom-designed home has everything you need for a comfortable stay in the paradise that is Mahahual. The home is bathed in natural light and features handmade custom interior and exterior doors, cabinets and closets that are made out of tzalam wood, a native wood to Mexico often called Mayan walnut or Caribbean walnut. Our home includes plenty of Mexican touches, including talavera tiles in the indoor and outdoor kitchens, and beautiful and colourful sinks in the bathrooms. There is hot water and decent water pressure that is pressurized from a pump on the roof. There is a fully equipped kitchen: full-sized gas oven/stove, full-sized fridge and freezer, water dispenser, microwave, blender, coffee maker, pots and pans, and plates, dishes and utensils. There is no dishwasher. There is a kitchen table with plenty of seating. There is a large desk and ergonomic office chair in the guest room and our Starlink wifi is perfect for virtual meetings and endless streaming. The living room is a great place to watch your favourite TV show or movie. Please note there is no cable service and you will have to login to your own streaming service account. The beds are very comfortable: Luna mattresses on cement frames. Each bedroom has places to hang clothes, with the principal featuring a walk-in closet. There are hammock hooks and hammocks available in the principal bedroom, the living room, and the back patio. Our private backyard is an oasis. It features a BBQ, an outdoor dining table with chairs, as well as two sun loungers. We have lots of floaties and toys for the pool. Please note that there are pool tiles that are coming free from their backing but it doesn't affect the enjoyment of the pool. It's only an aesthetic issue. We have a pool maintenance team come in three times a week to clean and add chemicals. But please note that when it rains, the pool can become cloudy. It's usable throughout. We also have an adorable outdoor shower to wash off after a trip to the beautiful beach and boardwalk of Mahahual. That's just a 10-15 minute walk away. Markets, produce stands, cafes and restaurants are half a block away and there are plenty of other wonderful amenities in the casitas. Please note there is no dedicated parking but free street parking is always available right outside our door. Our property managers and dear friends live right across the street and are available to answer any questions or address any needs. Guest access Guests have access to the full house and yard. Other things to note We do not allow parties and there is absolutely no smoking of any kind inside the house. If you do smoke outside, all butts must be collected and disposed of in the garbage. We provide water, toilet paper and paper towels for the first few days but when those run out, guests can get more supplies at the market just a half block away. Please note that a $20US charge will apply for each key that is not returned.
