Dreamboat Studio

A unique and relaxing getaway. Revitalize as you unwind in the cosy studio or stretch out and relax aboard the Dreamboat, a stationary restored wooden fishing boat. Take a dip in the natural swimming pool, grab a surfboard or take a bike out for a spin and discover the nearby Broadwater National Park. Ideally situated to explore the coastline from Byron Bay to Yamba and the hinterland beyond. By evening, prepare to drift into a fantastic night’s sleep, as happy, peaceful dreams carry you away. The space Dreamboat Studio has its own patio and boat retreat that overlook the natural swimming pool and garden below. Included in the Studio: - 1 Bedroom with a Queen Bed, sleeps 2 - 1 Single foldout ottamon bed, sleeps 1 - Wifi, Netflix, TV - Off-street parking - Clean and spacious bathroom - Compact buffet kitchenette, tea and coffee, milk, muesli - Fridge, microwave, toaster, portable single induction hotplate - Air Conditioning - Hair dryer, small fan - Iron and bench top ironing board - Patio with eating area and electric BBQ Note: the Studio comfortably sleeps 2 people. A third person can be accommodated on a fold out but the space will probably feel a bit cramped. Alternatively a third person can sleep on the foldout in the Dreamboat if preferred. Included in the ‘Dreamboat' (restored wooden boat retreat): - day beds (front sleeping berths in the bow of the boat) - single fold out bed - desk & chair - comfy reading chair - aft lounge (nice spot to chill and relax at rear of boat) - 12V lighting and power There’s also the shared laundry shed with washing machine and dryer, pedal bikes and helmets, and 'soft' beginner surfboards, a body board and associated leg ropes that you can borrow. We ask that you report any faults with these items to us asap and that you take any risk involving these items as your own responsibility. The studio and boat spaces are all yours. The laundry shed, the pool and garden are shared with us, usually a household of 3 along with tenants in cabin adjacent to the boat. Information regarding our Natural Swimming Pool: Our natural swimming pool is a semi-in ground, above ground pool, retrofitted with a biological cleansing system . In our system we use a UV Clarifier, biological filtration, floating plants, and some aeration. Occasionally we may need to add a small amount of hydrogen peroxide if algae is getting out of hand as the weather warms. It is normal to see living creatures in a natural swimming pool. This assures you that this water is fresh and livable. Other living creatures you may encounter in the swimming pool are small fish (our native Rainbowfish have recently bred and now there are 8 - so exciting!!!) frog tadpoles, boatmen, etc. We find our pool is best for a gentle type of swim and a look around, rather than a loud splashing type of a swim, which you can save for the nearby beach, river or public swimming pools. We hope you enjoy the pool and love the freshness of swimming in naturally managed water as much as we do. We do acknowledge however, that it may not be to everyone’s liking. Guest access Dreamboat Studio is the downstairs rear section of our home. Off-street parking is at the front of the house. Sensor lights ensure good visibility. Other things to note There are two service stations near by in Broadwater where basics can be purchased. You can visit Woodburn, Evans Head or Ballina for take away or a great meal out.
