Luxury Home On the Way to Santa Fe

The space This is our personal vacation home. This is not a full time vacation rental. As a result, we love and cherish this property and know you will too! I've filled our home with lots of fabrics in creams and whites to balance the surrounding desert landscape. I've taken care to create a beautiful, serene and cohesive decor that you'll love. After exploring Santa Fe all day or visiting the Albuquerque Int'l Balloon Festival, you'll love coming home to a relaxing sauna and a dip in the bright blue pool hanging over the canyon. The sunsets will blow your mind! In the summer you'll have expansive views of the canyon filled with piñon trees, juniper shrubs and desert cactus. In the winter, the surrounding land is sometimes misted with a fine layer of white snow. FIREPLACES: The 3 gas fireplaces in our house create a beautiful ambiance in the colder months, while the heated floors keep things nice and toasty. Summer months are kept cool with the stunning travertine floors. Do not use the heated floors in the summer. It will heat the house and you will not like it!!!! SLEEPING: Our home has 3 ensuite bedrooms in the central area of the home and a 4th bunkroom ensuite off the garage. 1) UPSTAIRS PRIMARY: KING with new foam mattress and high thread count sheets. Gas fireplace and newly carpeted. Large gorgeous bathroom with soaking tub. Electric blinds. 2) FRONT BEDROOM: KING BED. FULL SLEEPER SOFA. New foam mattress and high thread count sheets and newly carpeted. Beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower. Electric blinds. 3) LOWER BEDROOM: QUEEN with new foam mattress and high thread count sheets. Beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower. Electric blinds. 4) BUNK ROOM: 2 FULL SIZED BUNKBEDS. That's 4 beds. It is accessed from the hallway that connects the living room into the garage. This fits 4 guests perfectly or up to 8 if they're okay doubling up. This room can also access the Pool Area. (Of course, you may find it easier to go to the pool from the living room.) Full bathroom with walk-in shower. Manual blinds. SURROUND SOUND: Our whole-house Surround Sound really makes for great family gatherings, girls trips or friend trips. Controlled from the media room and your phone with MUSICCAST and with volume controls throughout the house, you'll be able to lower the volume in specific areas as needed. The pool even has its own volume control. MUSICCAST will also be how you control the media room screen using the firestick and projector system. MULTI-LEVEL HOME: Please be aware our home is multi-level. While this is a 2-story home with the primary suite on the 2nd floor, it is truly multi-level. To descend from the entry/upper living room/front bedroom you will need to walk down several large steps to a landing and then another 3 large steps. It is not possible to access the kitchen without going down at least a few steps and there are no bedrooms on the floor that has the kitchen. Please be aware of this for anyone with mobility challenges. POOL: Generally open from May - October. This is weather dependent. We do have freezes into late April some years and it does snow in October some years. We winterize the pipes for the cold season, so the pool is not useable in that time. Please note, this is the high desert. That means the weather is extreme. We do not heat the pool. Should you want the pool heated, please request it. It's an additional charge as it is heated with propane and it quite large. Additionally, it is about 3-1/2' on the shallow side to about 7' on the deep end. There is no shade. Other things to note ADDITIONAL GUESTS & PARTIES: We cannot allow additional guests nor parties. This means, the guests that are registered for the nightstay are the only people allowed at the house during the day. Should you have any special requests, please ask anyway. Thank you for understanding! KITCHEN: comes stocked with coffee, teas, spices, oils, vinegars, flours, sugars and other basic baking & cooking supplies. I keep service for 16+, plenty of stemware and serving dishes. There are enough paper towels, dish detergent, laundry detergent, toilet paper and cleaning supplies to get your vacation started. POOL: The pool is winterized and closed from late October/early November to mid April/early May. This is weather-dependent. We "winterize" the pool once temperature drop to below 50. Then "open" it once temperatures reach over 50 consistently. The pool is typically not heated. It can be heated with prior agreement for an additional $700. The pool is heated using propane and it is roughly 30,000 gallons (about 7+' on the deep end). This uses quite a bit of propane to heat. Literally half a tank! Without heating, the water seems to be about 75 degrees in the summer, sometimes up to 79 degrees. There is NO Shade out here. Pool cleaner comes once a week. It might be during your stay. HIGH-DESERT: This area of NM is called high-desert. Albuquerque is about 5400' above sea level. Santa Fe is 7000' above sea level. Our house is somewhere in between. This means it is quite cold and dry in the winter. Spring and Fall can be chilly too. It may snow anytime from late October - end of March/April. High-desert can also bring aggressive winds and summer monsoons. You may feel winded and out of breath initially with the high elevation. We suggest lemon water, Tylenol, and extra hydration. FYI -Cooking times will also be noticeably longer at this altitude. WINDOW COVERINGS: All the window coverings are Hunter Douglas and are electric (except the Bunkbed room.) You must use the remote (bedrooms) or wallcontrols (other rooms) to open/close/swivel. They will break if you attempt to open them manually. The Bunkbedroom has manual window coverings that use a pump-wand. Pump vertically to open. Pump at an angle to close. There are NO window coverings on the skylights in the ceilings. FURNITURE: All the furniture is white. (Except the Media Room.) While we never have issues with our family, it seems to be an issue with some people. Please be cognizant and mitigate dirty hands, feet, clothing of your invitees on the furniture. This is not the house for messy people. Sorry!!
