Description

Built in 1896, this traditional Cretan stone house is located in the village Sivas, Crete, Greece, with great views of the Messara plain and the mountain of Psiloritis and within walking distance to the village square. The house has been substantially restored and renovated with natural materials and great care in order to offer amenities for absolute comfort both in summer and winter time, while retaining all its traditional architectural and decorative elements, typical of the region. The space The house can comfortably accommodate up to 5 adults (2 double beds and 1 sofa turning into a single bed) and 2 children in its 90 square meters of interior living space in two floors. The ground floor hosts an open space fully-equipped kitchen and living room with a relaxing stone-built sofa area for cozy autumn and spring nights and cool summer days. The sofa area can comfortably accomodate 1 adult or 2 children. A stone staircase guides you to the top level, where the two bedrooms and the main bathroom are located. Both bedrooms are equipped with double beds, air-conditioning (for both cooling and heating), ceiling fans and windows with generous views of the Cretan countryside. The outdoor area has a stone-arch covered yard fully furnished for breakfast and dining and extends to the stone-paved 50m2 barbeque area and garden with mature citrus trees and local herbs. A stone wall with a wooden arched door surrounds the property, blending in perfectly privacy and quietness with the traditional Cretan architecture. An open air terrace in the first floor with spectacular mountain views will nourish unforgettable sunsets and evenings during your stay.If you’re looking for a different kind of getaway during the winter months, this house is an ideal choice. The traditional wood stove offers warmth and coziness and also serves as an oven to cook delicious meals over the fire — perfect for quiet evenings alone or with company, enjoying a glass of wine and some music by the flames.
