The Boatshed

The space The Boatshed is a guesthouse on a quarter acre section. The guesthouse shares a driveway with our main house but has its own parking and ability for full privacy with blinds. The space opens into a studio setting with one bedroom and open plan living space, and a bathroom. The Boatshed is perfect for couples, families or close friends (ok with sharing a room). Along with the queen size bed, there’s a sofa bed that can turn into another bed for one (or two littlies). All linen is provided. This can be the perfect hub for busy weekends at weddings or out adventuring. It’s spacious and versatile, and offers the perfect place to rest up after big days out. The Boatshed can also can be transformed into a cosy cave when the weather isn’t as permitting, or when you simply just feel like staying indoors. The room contains a tv with wifi and full set up to watch your favourite apps. This can be watched from bed, the couch or wherever you feel most comfortable. The bathroom is kitted with a spacious double head shower and towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash all provided. The room comes kitted out with lots of maritime themed reading to keep you entertained, as well as a jug, tea and coffee. Note - there is no toaster or cooking facilities - just a mini fridge, jug and plunger for coffee. There are so many amazing things to do in Kawakawa Bay. It’s the fishing capital of NZ and checking out the boat ramp is a must. There’s also beautiful beaches and trails all around (Waitawa and Tawhitokino). If you’re into biking and bmx, fourforty mountain bike park is just around the corner. Clevedon is our everything hub - it’s only 15 mins away and has incredible cafes, breweries, restaurants and boutiques. The Clevedon Sunday markets are an award winning farmers market - an absolute must see if you’re here on the weekend. If you’re lucky, the local weka love to put on a show around sunrise, and we have many kereru frequenting our property. We absolutely love the Boatshed - it’s such a cool space! Come and check it out ⚓️ Other things to note We have 2 cats on site Ash (fully black) and Mr Fudge (one eye black and white). Ash is black cat energy and usually keeps to herself. Mr Fudge is a little bit more curious and can be as involved with you on your stay as you desire. We have a porch that looks out to the water on the main house which you are more than welcome to use during your stay. It’s absolutely gorgeous to watch the sunset (or sunrise) from here. As mentioned, we live on site, although can be away at times. We love meeting new people but 100% respect all privacy and will only be as involved in your stay as you desire.
