Looking for a quiet place near the city? Take a look at our house in Svartskog, just 30 minutes from Oslo. The property includes its own private beach and dock – great for a morning swim or fishing. The villa was built in 1886 and is approximately 170 m2 with an annex of about 30 m2. The house is situated right by the sea in a scenic protected landscape area with ancient forest on the hill behind and rich wildlife. There are nice fishing,hiking opportunities and foraging available just outside. The space The house has several outdoor areas on a large, secluded, and fenced area with a large garden and natural plot. Ideal for families and pets. In the main house, there is a fully equipped kitchen (dining space for 8-10 people), living room and TV room, toilet and bathroom on the lower floor, as well as office space. There are a total of four bedrooms in the main house: Two with 180 cm beds and two with 120 cm beds. Additionally, two sofa beds (one 140 cm and one 90 cm). In the annex, there is a 120 cm bed and a 140 cm sofa bed. There is also a kitchen and a shower. From the property, it's a 15-minute drive to Kolbotn or Vinterbro. Kolbotn has several cozy cafes, a cinema, and restaurants. Tusenfryd is within a 20-minute reach. Ingierstrand beach has a good restaurant, and this is about a 20-minute drive away. There are several attractions nearby, Roald Amundsen's home is a museum about the Norwegian polar explorer (remember to check the opening hours). There are good hiking opportunities from the property. You can follow the coastal path further in from Sjødalstrand. You will then pass the famous Sherpa steps and enjoy beautiful nature on a good path. You can continue on this path to Breivoll. You can also walk up into the forest, where you can reach Sjødalstrand Farm. Further on, you will get to "The Farm on Svartskog". They sell their own products on Sundays. NOTE: remember to check the opening hours. Guest access The whole property as shown by the "map" in the photos except out house. The property is accessed by a private road, with a gate barrier that will be opened remotely. The private road is nice as there is minimal vehicle traffic by the house. We recommend having a car as the nearest public transportation is 2 km away. It's also much easier to go grocery shopping if you have a car. The house have a total of 5 parking spots. 3 outside the main gate and 2 down by the beach. Other things to note This is our childhood home - please take good care of it. :-) Bedding and one set of towels are included in the price for our guests. A basic rowboat, kayak, SUP and 3 yellow sunbeds that floats in the water is included for guests to use.
