A 40 minute boat ride from Sibuya Reception in Kenton-on-Sea up the magnificent Kariega Estuary provides a unique and exhilarating access to malaria-free Sibuya Game Reserve. Set in breath-taking Eastern Cape valley and forest landscapes and home to the Big 5, Sibuya offers game drives, river cruises and accommodations in either of two luxury tented eco-camps or two luxury lodges. All transfers and accommodations at Sibuya is fully inclusive of African-themed meals, all local beverages, game drives, boat cruises and river activities. Each eco-tented room in Forest and River Camp has luxury bedding, an all-weather roof and a private bathroom with shower and free-standing bath. Glass doors open onto a wooden deck overlooking the Estuary or the indigenous forest. Bush Lodge has two secluded air-conditioned luxury suites, with outside and inside shower and a private viewing deck. A modern three bedroomed cottage provides sole-use luxury, with three private bathrooms and vast viewing decks, heated swimming pool and air-conditioning in all rooms. Sibuya’s latest addition is secluded Nel’s Lodge, with two luxury private bathrooms and a third bedroom with private bathroom. Set on split-level decks, the Lodge has a spacious open-plan lounge and dining area, air-conditioning and a heated swimming pool with breath-taking views over the Reserve and Estuary as it meanders through the valley to the Indian Ocean. Sibuya accommodations venues are all fully catered with each Camp and Lodge providing its own Guides and game drive vehicles. The distant sound of the Ocean, the hoot of Owls and the mournful cries of Jackal mingle with the crackling of the fire on evenings spent around the campfire, while an awesome star-spangled sky stretches overhead. All-inclusive activities: boat transfers, birdwatching, bush walks away from dangerous game, swimming in the salt-water Estuary or heated swimming pools at the Lodges, fishing, canoeing and picnics - for three-nights-plus stays. Optional activities incurring an extra-charge, to be booked in advance: Horse riding on the Reserve, a specialist bird-guide, spa treatments, golf and deep-sea fishing. Free secure parking is provided at Sibuya Game Reserve and Lodge’s Reception in Kenton-on-Sea. Pre-arranged shuttles can be requested from Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) or East London (Buffalo City) Airport. Approximately 1.5 or 2.20 hours’ drive respectively to Sibuya’s Reception in Kenton on Sea. Featuring a wooden deck overlooking the Kariega River or forest, these spacious, luxurious tents are surrounded by trees. With an all-weather roof, the tents include a rustic-style private bathroom with African-themed hand basins, a free-standing bath and free toiletries. Tent - Forest Camp: Distinctive wooden walkways meandering through the indigenous forest, along the banks of the Kariega Estuary, maximize the privacy of the tents. The eight luxury eco-tents are each located on a private raised wooden deck and all have unique private bathrooms with ‘wild wood’ harvested from dead indigenous trees on the Reserve. Each bathroom has a shower, free-standing bath and complimentary toiletries. King-size or twin beds are available and sleeper couches for children sharing. A Tea/Coffee station is available in each tent. With an all-weather roof and a fireplace in each tent they’re cozy in winter, especially with a hot-water-bottle as an extra touch. Children over the age of twelve are welcome.
