Casa Leona is a recently refurbished traditional Spanish townhouse situated in historic Alhama de Granada. Centrally located -just a few minutes walk from the main square with it's local bars, restaurants and shops You can go back in time, but with all the modern conveniences to make your stay very comfortable . Relax and enjoy outdoor living on our spacious terrace with its views over rooftops and the landscape beyond. The space The house is on three floors linked by a central staircase. The house still retains many of its original features such as floor tiles and wooden shutters. There is a lightwell that draws the sun down to the ground floor. A stone column on the ground floor bears testament to the house's age built in the 1700s. The house is laid out in the traditional Spanish way with the main living quarters on the top floor and the bedrooms underneath for coolness in the summer. The two kingsize bedrooms are full of character with traditional floor tiles and wooden shutters. The bedroom at the front has a Juliet balcony. There are two spacious bathrooms with large walk-in showers. Other reviews on face book "Casa Leona Spain" Guest access The whole house is available except for the old stable room on the ground floor (originally used for livestock), which we now use for storage. Also the back garden yard area adjacent is not available to guests. Other things to note Guests are advised that due to the central location of the house there may be noise issues during the various town's festivals. However they are great fun and you will probably want to join in (dressing up optional!} Festival dates vary year to year so best check in advance. -Around the 24th of June - folk festival - During the months of June, July and August the cultural summer takes place -The Great September Fair 8th Sept. At the fairground, stands are installed where you can share a "pinchitos" accompanied by wine, ham and cheese. TAKE CARE not to get locked out.
