The cottage is in the heart of Cobham on the picturesque village street. It is a few steps from the delightful village shop which is open daily and sells fresh bread and meats as well as local produce. There are 3 friendly and welcoming pubs within the village (all within les that a 5 minute walk of the cottage) offering local ale and food. Cobham is a very pretty village in a conservation area, and as such remains relatively unspoilt. The 13th century village church is 2 minutes walk away. Charles Dickens is also linked to the village mentioning The Leather Bottle Inn (one of the local pubs) in The Pickwick Papers. The pub houses a collection of Dickensian memorabilia. Cobham stands at the end of Lime Avenue that leads to the great Cobham Hall, one of the finest houses in Kent. The village is described as a walker’s paradise with miles of Vinyards to explore and the Silverhand Estate known for its sparkling wine which also has a visitor centre and wine tasting. Directly from the cottage you can access many of the different walks in the most glorious countryside. A 30 minutes walk from the cottage through the Cobham Hall grounds, takes you to a National Trust Mausoleum and a 20 minute walk through beautiful countryside takes you to Owletts National Trust property. Cobham is also a short distance from the city of London. A direct train from the next village (5 minutes drive away) takes you into London Victoria in less than 45 minutes. The cottage is a 10 minute drive from Ebbsfleet International Station and a 50 minutes drive to the port of Dover.
