Your Bala home away from home

Welcome to Bala! This cozy 3-bedroom house is centrally located in Bala and is in a great spot to explore local attractions or just relax and unwind. Ideal for couples and families or people looking to enjoy what Muskoka has to offer! Our four season home comes with quick access (1 minute walk) to the Moon River, where you can take a dip in the lake, kayak, or go fishing. Close to Jaspen Park pavilion with a public beach and play area for kids. Minutes away from the iconic Bala Falls. The space Year-round enjoyment. Less than 2-hour drive from Toronto. Surrounded by Muskoka forests and wonderful lakes. Come and enjoy summer lake activities, campfires, the fall leaves, and some winter fun. We have access onto the Moon River. (Public access/ small watercraft) launch right on Sandor Dr, just a 2-minute walk from door to water. Close to Hardy Lake trails and Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Preserve. Minutes away from The Kee to Bala, the famous summer concert venue. Winter activities include snowshoeing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and skating. We have plenty of room to accommodate trailers for your snow machines or watercraft. The house sits on a large corner lot with tons of greenery. There are 2 kayaks and 1 paddle boards on site available for use. The house boasts a huge gated front deck with BBQ and patio seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make a delicious meal. There is a drip coffee maker as well as a Keurig and kettle for your favorite beverage. There is also a microwave for your convenience. Big dining room to enjoy with family. The three bedrooms are equipped with comfortable king, queen, and single mattresses. Bedding and linens included on site. There are 2 padded cots available for extra guests. Living area has a queen-size pull-out sofa bed. There is WIFI, basic satellite and also a smart TV for your enjoyment. There are portable fans, and also a portable A/C on site for your comfort. Downstairs is the 3rd room with tons of natural light and a single bed. There is a full-size BBQ on the spacious front deck. In the backyard, there is a screened in patio set and a hammock to relax on. There is a porch swing on the back deck under a covered pergola to enjoy. We have a game area in the spacious garage. Perfect for colder or rainy days. We have cornhole, a dartboard, and a pingpong table to use and enjoy. We have a billiards(pool) table, perfect for some friendly competition! There is also a wood stove for heat during the colder season, perfect for warming up after hitting the snowmobile trails! Guest access The entire house is available for guests to use, as well as the garage/rec area and property. There is also a public access/ small water craft launch (14 foot max) on to the Moon River right across from the house. * You CAN NOT park your vehicle or trailer at water site. It will be a 1 minute walk back to the water after you park them back at the house. There is plenty of space to park your trailer at the house. We also have 2 kayaks and a "SUP" and adult life jackets for use. Other things to note The District of Muskoka has recently made strict changes in regard to household waste/garbage pick up and recycling.If garbage and recycling are not properly sorted, we have been informed that it will not be picked up and we will need to sort it ourselves, bring to the transfer station and be charged accordingly. These changes have taken effect as of March 1st 2025, and due to this change, we will be charging all guests a $50 deposit upon booking (which is included in the cleaing fee). If you choose to leave your garbage behind, and it is sorted properly and picked up on our regular garbage pick up day which is Wednesday, then your $50 deposit will be reimbursed on the condition that it was picked up. Should you wish to take your garbage with you, we will be happy to reimburse the $50 deposit at checkout. Also, Wednesday is garbage pickup. Please have any garbage and recycling you've accumulated so far ready Tuesday evening. Someone will be over Wednesday morning to put it out. We will only access the garage and do our best not to disturb you. We have a smart TV that is logged in to some streaming service. (Please use GUEST profile) The TV in the game room is equipped with Cromecast so you would need to cast from your own device. We have a drip coffee maker, and WE DO provide folgers coffee. We have a kuerig, but DO NOT provide kcups. OTHER SERVICES (upon request-subject to availability) We are a short distance from the Kee to Bala. This is an amazing concert venue. We know you will enjoy your evening of music and drinks. Please do so safely. -Ride service to and from KEE concerts available upon request for a fee.
